Hi all,

I am looking to buy my first Panerai replica but I am not sure if a 44MM will suit nice as I don't have a large wrist.. I am worried is gonna be a bit too big.

Has anyone a wrist pic of a Luminor with the crown guard removed? Ideally something with a black/dark grey bezel?

Thanks

crown guard is actually pushing in the crown on luminor models, may I suggest the Radomir line.......

well, I am looking at Radiomir as well, I just thought a Luminor with no crown guard will look smaller as the crown it self is flat, compares to a Radiomir ones.

Luminor without CG will look out of proportion, besides, removing the CG will leave holes for the mounting screws in this place, and the adjacent space is usually poorly processed.

ok.. I understand maybe is not a good idea. I am assuming there is no picture of it as no one has ever done it. :)

Thanks KOT, this is what I was looking for as I am not sure if I should get a PAM505 or a PAM386 and remove the crown guard to make it look a bit smaller.

Also the solid lugs may help to make it looks thinner.

Believe me, CG will not add to the overall dimensions of the watch. But Radiomir is thinner if that's important to you.

Perhaps my hands are bigger, but, as you can see, the presence of computer graphics does not change the size much, but leaves the brand aesthetics, without which I would not see any reason to buy panerai for myself.

People here told you several reasons to not do it.
I will reiterate a point that perhaps you overlooked.

The lever arm on the crown guard on is pushing the crown in.
If you do this, the crown will not be pushed in and your watch will not be waterproof at all. The tiniest bit of water near your watch will ruin it.

Again, do not do it.

That said, what you are looking for is something with a panerai radiomir 1940 case.
I don't know what's available these days, but you're looking for something like PAM662, PAM690, PAM574, PAM572

More so than the diameter of the watch, thickness matters quite a bit too. I have roughly 6.5 inch wrist and 44mm Luminor is my max (and maybe... A tad bit too big on me). I believe it has 16mm thickness.

None of the 1940 radiomirs should be sold new now, but ask TD for the right solution. By the way, pam574 is a very good move, as well as 512. In fact, it is logical, but it just flew out of my head that the radiomir 1940 is not only 47mm. :(

OP, there are 42mm PAMs available including Radiomirs
would suggest to give them a closer look before proceeding with the crown guard removal route which is not a smart idea as already outlined by previous posts

That crown guard is what helps seal the watch for better water resistance , something to think about ...
