PANERAI BOX SET AND RWI DEALERS

Just miss the sale done by Briank996, I guess it was a timezone thing!!!
Anyway I want to get one of those Panerai box set for a while, and of course I did like anyone with sense I checked the 'OK dealers', and that when problems started.

Watcheden sells it for 145 $ (shipping included): nice price.
Timeshopnet goes for 155 $ (shipping included and 8% off (12$) if you make 2 purchases): even a better price.
Finally Puretime will let it for 70 $ (+30$ shipping): and that's an awesome price.
Of course there's little difference, each one has a different strap, nylon, rubber or leather.

I'm sure I could select reps from all the RWI dealers find differences and different price, but again reps are reps, and boxes are boxes and only boxes, and who cares about boxes.

I'm definetly going to buy from one of those guys, I don't know which one yet,
MAYBE someone will post a reply that would tell me what to do,
MAYBE I might follow his advice,
MAYBE not,
MAYBE there'll be no other post on this subjet,
MAYBE one of the dealers will try to influence my decision: telling me his is the best choice,
MAYBE all 3 will try,
MAYBE none will,
MAYBE I'll buy from all three, just to compare,
MAYBE I won't,
MAYBE I'll make a review on boxes,
and again I might not.

I'm not impressed with the quality of the boxes.

the hardware is the wrong color on many of them, and anyone who has seen a real box would not be impressed, due to the poor quality and fit/finish.

it's a novelty, really

i think you'll be happier just getting a nice display box for your watches, or a watch winder

Already got a display box, but I want more.
A rep watch even a good one is not the same as the gen, isn't it the same for a box?
Slight differences on the color will still make it for me.

A Faux watch box is a nice acutrament to a watch collector who appreciates the complete package. As Jergenk explained if you intend to use it for storage, go aftermarket and skip the rep box. I like to have the boxes with my watches but only for the fact it completes the package for me and I appreciate the added value. Also ask yourself if that money could be better spent on a strap or mod for your watch.

I bought one a year ago from Puretime. But as stated above, quality is not in the list of specs. I sold it a month later.

I definelty would prefer a leather travel case before purchasing a rep box.

IMHO, you're better off getting a watch case like those offered by AceTimer. I'm expecting 2 of the 20-watch Oak finish Wood Cases to arrive in a week. So far, the feedback from this forum has been rather good. Check out the thread with pix of AceTimer's watch winder. Looks fabulous.

How do I make sure the one on Ebay are not reps? I've seen quite a few that definetly had a problem with the color. Why would anyone sell a gen box?
