Never heard of that Otto Jay Peacock??
In any case the build looks quite basic with Aliexpress quality case set, dial lacking clear varnish on indices and serif on print. Numbers shape looks modern too, dial could be a reworked 000 one.
Crown guard could be ok for A-F series builds but its too thin for Pre-V and inner corners are way too rounded. CG pin is not flat either and is lacking the correct radial brushing.
Crown is the standard Aliexpress quality, and tube is surely the same while Pre-V Panerai had a very specific crown and tube set.
Cannon pin is sunken and not polished, hands are modern type not Pre-V.
Case has thin lugs and incorrect screw in lugbars. The lug holes should be the same size and lug bars should have screws on both sides.
Bezel looks to be somewhat brushed which is incorrect. And by the way the rehaut should be polished but that's the smallest detailm all in all.

Not saying it's not a nice watch per se because it is despite its flaws, but you asked.

Make your check for the invaluable education payable to @kilowattore ...

It's not a bad looking watch - just a bad attempt at a pre-v homage.

Hope you didn't pay old Otto too much - try to enjoy it regardless!

XILENZ,

Welcome to the Pam world, it is invigorating. Otto, I’ve heard is a nice guy, and is very good at custom pieces such as one-of-a-kind pieces, but not true gen-like 1:1s. (Not knocking Otto, seems like a cool dude)
I’d assume by this acquisition and your introduction, you probably entered the Pam world via a FB group.
I will say those groups are inviting and it is good they exist. Although, you will notice as Killowatore has so explicitly defined above, the standards on RWI are unmatched and the “close enough” or fuckery that happens elsewhere doesn’t cut it here.
As said by others, this is a very nice watch, but it is a nice watch, it is not a 5218-201 replica imo.

Good luck with your next Pam, if you catch the bug, may your marriage be strong and pockets be deep.

(I’d recommend a Belkin build, it’s a lot closer, but honestly all new builds struggle because the preV case set availability sucks imo)

Best,
PG

Compare your watch to a Belkin build. Here's a couple of examples from the M2M section, there are others throughout the form. As you can see, the bar is set really high.

My Belkin, you can't go wrong!

Also, if you love your PAM there, then love it! The 1:1 thing only matters if it matters to you.

I can't say for sure, but perhaps if Panerai's version back then was built exactly like your otto build and vice versa (except for maybe the movement), we would be sitting here picking apart the differences on what is the gen in this universe.

It's all subjective!

I goggled Otto Jay Peacock and can only find straps. The watch that you bought might have this dude's strap but certainly not the watch itself. Anyway, after reading the opinion from kilowattore, hopefully you don't spend more than 150 bucks for it.
