Panerai 360 AR question.

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before, I have done a search and returned nothing.

With my PAMS I like to get them as close to gen as possible, and that includes AR. I have a DSN PAM 360 that I love, it has no AR at all but still looks fine, the thing is I was wondering if it may benefit from a double or single AR coating. :thinking:

Does anyone know what the original has? I am thinking double AR may be too much but what about single? And would that be on the inside or outside? Or am I trying too hard here?

Any help appreciated.

I can't answer your Q's about the gen pam.. but single AR is *almost* always on the inside.

I love all pams, BUT, with no AR I think they look cheap... I think at least for the inside, would be a great improvement, as the gen sapphire has a superior quality and much less reflex.
I have a 088 and I'm crazy about changing the glass, at least to get a inside AR. Does anyone know where to find a glass for it already with AR to sell?

All gen PAMs are only single-sided AR, as far as I know. And it's not super effective AR, at that.

No AR is closer to accurate than some of the super blue colored rep AR. A good aftermarket AR coating would be a benefit, however.

It is on it's way to Uwe over in Deutschland and he is going to double AR it and then remove one side.

To be honest I am even thinking of leaving it at double AR, any thoughts?

@ hooligan, very interesting about the rep blue AR, in my opinion that looks like absolute s**t.

Thing is, I will only have photo's to go by as Uwe will get it back double AR'ed and then ask me if I want to leave it as it is or remove one side of the AR.

This is what double AR looks like on a pvd Pam ... ( also done by Uwe )
I like/prefer it to the ugly blue tint or no AR at all standard on most rep Pams , don't care whether it's gen like

The gold tint on the crystal suits the PVD nicely ...

i use single ar coating from chief from inside
i tell u why i do that
gen pams have light ar but very good sapphire very clear
chief has super clean ar, so when u mix super clean ar with rep sapphire u get it close to a gen

if double than is tooo much than pam looks too much industrialized like let say breitling which pam is not at all
