Hey guys,
I just purchased a DSN 217 destro a bit ago and had it malfunction and stop winding. Davidsen was awesome and took it back, serviced it and sent it back working great. Well me being the tinkerer and seeing a bunch of people modifying things I decided to take the watch apart to learn a bit more about it. I took off the crown guard and kind of pryed the crown open with a small flat head and it popped out but now I can't seem to get it to "pop" back into place...

Sooo, my question to you guys is how do I get it to snap back into place so I can wind the dern thing. Thanks in advance!

Heres my original thread from when it first happened:

Was doing a bit of reading and it seems I may have broken the stem or some part by forcing the stem out with a flat head? Seems I should have used the "set lever screw"...... Not sure, still learning but no worries on the part cost.. This is actually kind of fun for me :) Anyone have any suggestions for where I could go?

I might suggest getting in touch with KATT as soon as possible and see if he can help you. He can be found at "Kat''s Watch Repair" here at the forum and is really quite amazing and works quickly and reasonably. Write to him and see what he says. Best of luck.

Ah mate, you did what?
Oh dear, you will have done untold damage to the keyless works putting that kind of pressure on things. Did the entire stem come out or not? Use Google and find a pic of a stem, you will be able to tell if yours is all there or not.

Mate, nothing on a watch MVT needs any real force to pull apart, if does you are doing it wrong. I would suggest a lot more reading before any more work is undertaken.

There is a great tutorial on how to completely break down and reassemble a 6497 on eta.ch

Down at the bottom on the middle is a section with various models.

agh... I've heard about the keyless works.. Is it possible to replace/repair?? I really don't understand how this works.. I beleive though the whole stem did come out... It looks just like this:

I checked it out but I'm not to sure which parts I need to remove to fix the "keyless works".. Can someone explain this component to me?
