Panerai 162 from Marvellous

Just got a Panerai 162 from Marvellous Replica, now my second MReplica watch, and it's one with which I am impressed. I wasn't too familiar with the 162 before getting this one, but from what I can see, it's a very respectable rep--I have a couple Davidsen and a Vac PAM and the MR stands up to them, though I'm really not an expert--just a fan.

The case is solid and the brushed finish flawless; no cuts in any of the corners. The chrome-finished pieces are highly polished and even and the overall fit and appearance is as good as any rep I have.

The dial is clean, and the Sapphire crystal and AR are clear, no blueish tint that I've had on some PAMs. Hands and subdials look sharp; as an added and unexpected bonus the lume is blindingly bright darned good for an umodded watch-again, the best out of the box I've seen. I think the crown guard is right based on the gen photos I have seen. It may not stand up to extremely close scrutiny but I'm very happy with it as it is; I've no burning desire to change or mod a thing, though I do have plans to change out the strap.

I've heard great things about Marvellous Replica and after seeing the quality on this and my other MR rep (Omega) I know where I'm headed next time I get the urge to get a new watch.

Oh, the best part? I didn't pay for it---it was a Birthday gift from my most awesome girlfriend.

hey ach--good to hear from you. What can I tell you other than work has taken precedence over RWI, but business is good and that is where my focus has been. Thanks for noticing the improvement in photo skills – that has happened only because of a lot of help and a lot of time, trial and error.

I agree with you about the stainless steel on the PAM-- I saw that watch and stainless steel matchup in a movie years ago and have been lusting for it ever since.

Hope you have been doing well – I am planning to get that custom-made pedecter strap on to one of my Panerai this month! I will post a photo.
