Hey guys,

I have been looking at different models for the 111 Pam. I really like the 111F that is a sandwich dial, but have found others that claim to be 111F that don't have the sandwich dial. Which is accurate?

I included a couple pics of each which claim to both be a 111F.

This is the one I like:

This one is called a 111F as well but not does have a sandwich dial.

Until the H series it should be sausage. H and on it should be sandwich.

So F should have sausage.

source: hxxp://www.paneristi.com/reference/vend ... meset.html

For the H series, the Luminor Marina and base received a significant overhaul, in that the decoration on the bridges changed from the stamped Panerai to a côtes de geneve engraving, and all model except white dials now have a sandwich dial.

Are you sure about that?? I mean it doesn't say that there weren't any models before the H series that had sandwich dials, just that "ALL" models now have them.

If that is the case though (that all dials before H series weren't sandwich) then what model is that one in the first picture?

Looks like a 111H with a polished crown guard.

With a picture of caseback/movement it would be easier to identify.

F series should be Sausage dial. I am 100% sure :)

Also, F series should have polished CG. G series is also sausage dial but with brushed CG.

The one is the pic looks like a fantasy model.

If it's a sandwich model, it should have "L SWISS MADE L" below the 6.

It looks most like the H series, but with "L SWISS L".

Also, A-D have stamped OPII movement. E-G have stamped OPXI movement. H-J have cote de geneve bridge OPXI movement.

111E, 111F, 111G ---> sausage
111H, 111I, 111J ---> sandwich

100% sure.

Edit:
111 was introduced in 2002 (E-series), so there is no A-,B-,C-,D-series of 111.

As everyone has said Sandwich dial on anything other than Radiomirs did not exist prior to H Series. In addtion with the Sandwich dial Paneral also reintroduced the the "historic" crown guard which features a centered lever within the crown guard and overall larger dimensions. The only historics with close to the proper proportion on the CG's are Davidsen's but they have other flaws. Then again, if they were perfect you wouldn't be paying $300. You would be paying $3,000. :D

OK then, so the consensus is that it is not a 111F in the first picture. Then what is it? Is it some fantasy model?

I can't tell if that first pic has a polished CG or not. If it's a polished CG, yes, it's a fantasy. I believe all the sandwich dial historic models have brushed CGs.....

There is no historic Sandwich dial PAM with "L SWISS L"

So this would be a fantasy model.

So does the 111F come with the polished CG? I am looking for one with a polished CG to be my next rep.

Yes. brushed CG starts from G-series for 111 (or formerly known as 001).
