I ordered a panerai 005 and was told that the maker of this model no longer makes this and it has been a while since it was made.
The reason I am getting one is because the supplier had purchased the parts so before hand and that he is assembling it for me but it is the last set that he has.
I have the last one.

Unless another maker makes this model with the tall canon pinion (I dont know anyone) you wont be getting it. :(

Can I have it?

PS: Just read that it's the last one  Ok... I have seen this piece. Very good value for money and with closed caseback, we don't have to be bothered with the movement.

i got one from a another forum delaerin the CONUSA about 2 weeks ago, it hasa closed case back but the crown guard isn't brushed (i believe it should be), maybe i need to post pics of it for criticism (no camera at this time as wife brought it with her to travel).....actually thought of selling it bec. I have my eye on a 176 someone is selling around here (if i get that 176 then most definitely will sell this 005, or maybe sell my 111 (also non brushed crown guard...don't know actually about that pinion thingy coz of newbness and procrastination in knowing about that issue since my instinct/drive to own a Pam overrides other stuff)

Actually,, this is the one watch that I have orderd for me. I have taken the profits here and there and ordered it for myself and my wife a Cartier La Donna quartz as a reward for not having me around much (I've been glued to the computer in the basement of our home dealing with you folks..lol) so sorry Taka... this one is mine.. and I did not even realize it was the last one!

Hmmmm, I dunno.

I'm sure DSN is still making his Fiver, though.

Most non-DSN dials that I've seen have the logo with the "arrows" that are too straight. DSN's logo is better shaped, but too big.

Pick your poison.

Regardless, if anyone out there has to have a Fiver and doesn't have one yet, I'm sure they can get one from DSN now, and for a long time to come.

Now, if you were talking about the Zero with the good dial, that'd be a different story. The only thing wrong with that dial was the low cross-bar "A"s and the straight front leg on the "R"s.

Err.... remove the dials and casebacks... install DSN dials and casebacks... replace hands with DSN slim hands (tall canon pin after all) and you're good to go....

How else do you build a nice 002D, 003B, 004preA, et al... the 4th 005 was going to become a 010D.... oh well... sucks to be me...

Why not source any Luminor for that?

Better yet, just buy the case sets and buy the movements, dials, hands and case backs from DSN.

The 005's that D4M is talking about have a tall canon pin, are cheap, and have an awesome crown...

You are talking about the Davidsen 000 dial? Is it that good?

No, I was talking about the non-DSN Zero dial. Yes, there was one that was that good. I bought one from Babola and was silly enough to sell it. <sigh>

Here is a pic, you tell me:
