Short and sweet answer, all of them. :lmao:

Honestly, there isn't a definitive list of what PAMs to own as each collector has their personal style and taste. But let's attempt it shall we (it's not for me, if you see my stash you'd understand :lmao: )?

1. Base
2. White Dial
3. Submersible
4. PVD/DLC/Ceramic
5. Radiomir

You could follow Panerai's example and put them under

1. Contemporary
2. Modern
3. Historic

If you want to add to that, simply branch out to 44 and 47mm (although the white dial is only available in 44mm) for each category. So that's my minimum recommendation. :)

I don't have a top 3, my PAMily would riot immediately. :lmao: At any one given time, I will have more than 3 PAMs out to be considered in my weekly rotation. Factories vary depending on the watch, whatever was the best at the time and whatever was available to buy (being the best is pretty nice and all, but it is totally a useless description if you can't buy the watch, IMHO).

I'd suggest a 088. Mine is breathtaking! Mine has a gen dial, hands and crown guard from grimlocktime, but even stock rep they are beautiful!

Well, you need at least

a tobacco dial (pam 390)
a base with sandwich dial (pam 000)
a white dial (pam 113)
a dlc/destro (pam 026)

That's for the Luminor range with manual movement. Then you can proceed to autos, then to 1950 case, radiomir case, 1940 case, submersible. I knowingly left out Pre-V, Pre-A and vintage just to keep the number of watches you need under 30

Oh man that one of the left is gorgeous! May I ask the best factory for a 088 ? I am on the verge of getting my first PAM coming from an extensive Rolex list.

I believe only h maker is available. Noob use to make them, but they have been out of production for quite a while. It's even more beautiful in person. I know the gen parts add to the appearance, but even the stock rep looks really good from the reviews I've read.

  2. Sumbersible: 064 or 087
  3. Bronze: 382 or 671
  4. Ceramic: 438 Tuttonero
  5. Radiomir Chrono: 518 (White Dial)-519-520
