PAM979 dial

Hi Everyone, anyone bought VSF PAM979 lately? I am wondering if the dial is close enough to GEN or am I just better off to go with PAM616? I like the 979 clean design better, but I am a bit affraid of the dial accuracy to GEN . Thanx for help [h=1][/h]

If we compare these two, then the PAM616 dial turned out to be more like GEN. The texture of the VSF forged carbon dials is not as variegated, and the 979 markers are lighter than the GEN. But this is all rather relative.

I grabbed a VSF 979 and the dial compared to gen is not bad, not great either. The gen has more complexity, especially when turned at different angles to the light. The rep is a little more simplistic.

Overall, the case and bezel of the gen feels more like a piece of charcoal, whereas the rep feels a little like plastic.

But it is a great rep.

I also have a 616 and it is closer to gen than the 979.
