PAM960 can’t set date

Hey everyone, always read these forums but usually don’t post. So thanks for all the info over the years!

Anyways, as the title says, I bought a pam960 from puretime and the watch looks and feels great. Only problem is the date can’t be changed using the crown. When the crown is half pulled out the hour hand changes by the hour in “clicks,” as if it should be changing the date wheel but instead it just moves the hour hand. When the crown is fully pulled out, it changes the time as expected.

I contacted puretime and they said to either get it fixed at a local watch-smith (which I know is frowned upon), or send it to them to fix it (which seems like a pain in the butt).

I am mechanically savvy for the most part, so I was wondering if any members here would know if this is something I could fix myself? I took the case back off and unscrewed the movement, but got hung up removing the watch crown as I don’t think I had the proper tool/screwdriver to do so. Either that or I was doing it wrong haha.

So if anyone could recommend where they think I should go from here or if there are any forum members in conus who would be willing/able to fix this for me (I would of course pay whatever your fee is), I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

From what you're saying it works exactly how it's supposed to.
Wait really?? So there is no way to change just the date? You have to turn the crown 24 times, so that the hour hand moves 24 hours, in order to change the date one day?

And pardon me if that’s the case, I just have no idea and that isn’t like any watch I’ve ever used.

I also had no idea of this function on Panerais but read about it just prior to purchasing my first one, PAM1661.
