I was looking around on the internet and read about this 47mm PAM 721 radiomir with a sterile dial.
I can't find a lot of pictures of it. It seems that it is not out yet in gen?
I found a page on Paneristi forum where someone said "Official feedback from OP is that it will only roll out during their next financial year, thus post March 2018"
If that is true, how long until we will see a rep? Could there be a rep before then?

It looks like this picture someone took shows retail launch for July 2017 and wholesale launch for September 2017, both of which have already passed

It's composed of components that we've seen already. Not even sure why the factories don't release it before Panerai does.

Are there any other models that have the PANERAI at the 12 on the rehaut? Or is that the only new thing?

I think it is. There are other PAMs with engravings at 12 like the PAM449 with S.L.C. and the PAM448 with CALIFORNIA, but the PAM721 is the first watch that I've encountered that has the PANERAI engraving on the rehaut.

I imagine the PANERAI rehaut engraving is probably the same font and size as the S.L.C. and CALIFORNIA, so I'm sure the factories probably could release it before the gen if they wanted and it would still be accurate, even if made without the gen in hand.

True, that's why I said there isn't any feature on the PAM721 that hasn't been replicated before. :)

I seriously lauged out loud.
This is basically the antithesis of the watch under discussion. I love all of the complications.
What? No GMT? And the PR gauges are redundant. Should have put a moon phase in one of them.

..any news about any maker attempting to do it? :)

Unfortunately so far, no news from the factories. Probably after the Christmas break and before the Chinese New Year holiday we'll have something to look forward to. :)

I don't like it. The Gen looks like a cheap homage.

The gen also rubs off some people the wrong way because it looks a bit too much like the original Kampfschwimmer watches which Panerai refused to put their name on.

One may not always or completely agree with his theories, but José's articles are always a pleasant read.
