This looks like a cheapie. The PAM700 is a solid carbon case, not the layered carbon as in the 616.

There was talk talk a long time ago about making this rep. Never heard of a good one developed.

Is this Quartz ? Because the movement looks non operational plus it looks like it’s one solid stamped piece.

Actually the PAM700 does use the Carbotech case so it should be layered carbon like the PAM616 and PAM661. However that watch looks like a steel case painted with stripes to make it look like carbotech.

That movement looks very different from a gen movement. Is it functional? There is no depth to those gears and the way the teeth are touching in some spots seems odd.

Hi all,

Quite a coincidence, I got one just yesterday :) After reading all the discussion that faded about one year ago, I am pretty convinced that this is the (relatively) best PAM700 replica that will ever exist. So I pulled the trigger and got one from my local dealer, I didn't pay that much and I skipped shipping cost and customs uncertainty so I got my decision to buy it without so much thought.

The watch is exactly as the one posted by the OP. The case appears to be a luminor marina 1950 around 47mm wide (I apologise not having a suitable tool to measure it precisely) and the height about 12mm. Stripes appear to be painted as noted above. Logos are printed on the glass, something that gives character but also annoys when the hands are below the logos. I hadn't have the chance to check the lume's intensity but it is definitely blue and appears to be OK.

The back of the watch is the original back but it is not functional, it is 3D and nice but nothing moves :) The watch is definitely mechanical since the seconds hand moves smoothly.

Finally I'm very satisfied by the strap which is smooth and of very good built.

I'm generally satisfied by my purchase, since as I mentioned didn't pay that much (a total of 280€). I don't expect that the factories will bother to create the exact machine/back ever. If this was feasible, it had been done already after so many years. I also don't care about the straps being painted since I don't expect a replica to use an innovative material/type of built that has a very expensive R&D behind it. On the other side, I can wear a very unique watch that gives character to my general appearance.

Taking into account that only 50 watches exist worldwide, less that 50 have been sold and I don't have a chance to run into an owner of an original one, I don't care about the back and the straps issue (the only flwas from the gen). Nobody is going to glue his nose on the watch to inspect the end of the stripes while as a general appearence the watch looks very close to the original.

I include some photos that I tried to take as good as possible, to complement the OP's presentation.

The thing is they have already developed a carbotech case so why not use that?

The material the case maker has but the watch factories probably don't want to invest into new extrusion molds (the PAM700 is a Luminor but it's a different size) or they don't see the market potential or both.
