Pam685 movement help

Hello all,

I have unfortunately been dealing with quite the saga with my ZF PAM685. In a nutshell, the watch ran great for about a week after I received it and then I noticed it was gaining time every day, like a lot of time, up to 5 minutes. I sent it out to oascom who performed a full service in December and mentioned there was a cracked jewel that he could not repair and advised to change the movement when it would no longer function properly. It was running perfectly when it came back and I considered selling it at this point to recoup some loss but then something crazy happened. The watch started gaining almost 15 minutes per day, which is pure insanity. I then tested the watch to see if it was magnetized, (it was) and every time I use the demagnetizer, the watch becomes re-magnetized soon again thereafter.

My question is does anyone know where I can get a replacement p3000 movement or is there another type of hand wound movement I can use that will fit properly inside of this case? I’d really like to figure out a way to save this piece.

I will not solve your problem, but I will express my thoughts:

I don’t think that it will be possible to buy a new p.3000 except as a second-hand in m2m or other watches as a donor, because ZF or SF does not make these watches now.

However, there was a thread about searching for 687 where one of the members mentioned that he was able to order ZF from Puretime. Perhaps write something to them, or to this participant.

I myself have not tried to do this, but as I understand it, 6497 does not change directly to p.9000, but in terms of size, it should definitely fit. It might be worth replacing the crown, and adapting, or replacing hands. Also not sure about attaching it inside the case.
I think if it were simple, we would see a lot of noob 372, for example, with p. 3000 from SF, for example.

Anyway, good luck finding a replacement. I also don’t think that the p.3000 jewelry is unique, I am sure that they are similar to some other caliber, we need to know its characteristics.
It seems to be more likely to be repaired than replaced.

P3000 clone ZF and SF in terms of mesurements and hieght are differents, I remember that in times when P3000 were first released years ago and compatibility of those two cases and movements were discussed.(SF V1,2,3 vs ZF in Radiomir cases of 448 and 449 reps)

There are some other versions of "P3000" with 6497 movements with decorated plates, glued to the 6497 to mimic the P3000.

Also remember one forum member had a complete disassemble and service of a P3000 clone for one of this reps.

Tou have to be very sure about your vesion to try to buy a new one or replace it with spare parts.

Maybe if you search in previous post you can find the right thread.

Also I think the demagnetization problem should solve the issue if it is the problem.

Hope this helps.
