The movement engravings don't look that nice. They will be an immediate tell.

Initial quick thoughts, subject to amendments and changes:
- It is missing the satiné soleil (sunburst) on the dial, just like the SF 604.
- The engraved text color is off and is noticeable more than usual as it doesn't match the fleur-de-lys color.
- Engravings look decent, from a distance. What can you expect for a couple of hundred dollars?
- While the fleur-de-lys embossing looks decent on the strap, the gen doesn't look like its an assolutamente strap.
- Decent decorations on the newer version of the P3000 movement; the screw placements are closer to gen than the previous P3000SC, however the engravings are however not as deep, precise and need some off-setting color. Moreover the separation between the plates of the new P3000 look bad. I would suggest welding a plate under the 'supposed' plates to make it closer to gen.
- OFFERING A MINERAL CRYSTAL ON A $300+ PANERAI REP IS A NO-NO. MAKE IT POLY, MAKE IT SAPPHIRE BUT NOT MINERAL.

I think if engravings were a bit deeper, it would look much better. What would bother me more is non-sunburst effect on dial. Other than that it's more or less the same as 604.

Keep in mind that "engraved movement" means thin decorated plates on top of clone movement. Cheap attempt to satisfy the market. Won't fly here for sure. Unless someone is really desperate to "impress". IMHO, :rwf:

Of course! I wouldn't buy it for sure but it's nice to see attempts on new models. Hopefully some other 2016 will show up too.

I, for one, hope that they'll do a proper separation of plates for the newer but plain P3000. I am thinking about PAM 662 and 663. :w00t:

Anyone noticed the size of the Canon pinion? Though not noticeable from a distance, they do seem smaller in the pics.

I'm sure it will be impossible to have a Reppy similar to 672...
Too hard to realize the highly decorated caliber.
Then , it's a very rare model.
I prefer the classics and historic models.

Sorry guys, that is not engraved but etched. Look at the flanks and the bottom of the "engraving" . It has "U" shape and the bottom has no marks of the engraving tool. To the question which always comes up, why it isn't deep enough, the answer is simple. If you etch into a material, sooner or later the hole builds flanks. The acid will etch into the deep as well as sidewards. That means the elements are getting wider, and the negative elements (like the inner parts of an "0" ) getting thinner and thinner, the corners getting round. So you are limited with the depth, or you lose the negative parts. Btw. on the dial "Firenze" is etched as well, imo...
