I mean the gen 505 uses a composite material so DLC is definitely doing to act differently compared to the actual composite. But then again, without the gen to compare side by side, who would actually be able to tell you that yours isn't the composite? If it really bothers you, just go with a normal ceramica. Those are made with real ceramic and would definitely be very close to the gen.

Who is this "they" who claimed it was a super rep? It is using a "super clone" P.9000 which looks like the gen (but not like the V2 "super clone" P.9001 which has not only the looks but most of the gen function) and is using a "super lume" on the dial but no mention of "super rep" status. Maybe you confused the use of those "super" materials/components with the super rep classification.

Weight of composite is very light at 60 grams for the gen. The DLCed Titanium construction will be closer in weight compared to DLCed stainless steel but it is still around 97 grams based on the last rep (depending on the shape of the casae on the new watch). Appearance wise both the KW and ZF samples were very close to gen appearance so we are not expecting anything major in terms of how it looks. The use of the improved "super clone" P.9000 improves upon the quality of the rep. However, the crown is still a negative point (as with most, if not all rep radiomirs). Logo is wrong with a too shallow depth. The slits on the O and the P should be rectangular with the openings being taller than they are wide. On the reps, they are almost squarish.

Anyway, maybe someone will buy this new watch and post pictures of the actual shipping watch, then we can make some more comparisons.

One thing I notice that has me confused is the composite color. VSF is near black...the gen sale ads Ive seen have case colors near black...I stepped into the AD last week and the case color was chocolate...

Colour balance has a lot to do with it, digital cameras are awful for reproducing colour accurately unless adjusted and calibrated properly.

It got caught up in the Chinese holiday so it hasnt shipped yet. I'm talking to my TD about adding in another rep to the order...so probably wont get it for another week or two.

Sorry folks. My TD still has it. Adding in a Rollie BLNR and had to wait until the TD could get the v7. Should hopefully have this and the BLNR in a couple weeks.

So I received my 505. First thoughts, its a gorgeous piece! Fit and finish are fantastic and the wrist presence is really nice compared to 44mm luminors. I was worried it would be a too big, but without a CG and the lower height, it sits very nicely on my small/medium sized wrist. The asso strap is decent quality. Its no gen...but as far as reps go, its perfectly acceptable.

As far as accuracy, its very good. The issues noted earlier are true though. Biggest issue I saw out of the box was the engraving on the crown. Its too light. The case color is still a mystery to me. I went back to the AD in the UES and they sold the 505 they had last time I was there. From memory, I think the gen case and dial were more "chocolatey" but it could have just been the lighting in the display case. Compared to my 441, this dial and case are more brown, but I dont think its perfect to the gen case (but doesnt bother me one bit, and I could be wrong).
