Just recieved my Cali from Sora, everything is solid except big gap between crown to case, even with fully screw down.
I also checked other Pam448/449 in web and found it's not single excursion.

So dose this a flaw for recent bath 448/449? Can I fix/mod it by myself or need professional watchsmith to handle it?
Your experience and professional input is well appreciated.

This may be asking the obvious but have you compared your watch with the 448 on Panerai 's web site?

The crown looks like it's not completely screwed in.
Most likely you already tried, but are you sure you pushed the crown straight against the tube? I have a similar issue with some of my radiomirs and, while I push the crown against the tube, I slowly turn it anticlockwise until I "feel" it's catching the thread. Then I screw her in and all is good.

My guess is the stem is a few mm too long. Take it, cut it and see if this fixes the issue. Be very careful through, cutting too much will be asking for a trouble as you will not be able to source a replacement stem easily.

Mate, thanks for your input.
I think this should be the root cause. I'll let local watchsmith to handle it since it's a little complicated to me:p

Anyway, overall building of the watch is awesome. It match well aside my Gen 424Q.

post photos of your 424!! haha. just out of curiosity, is your 424 the updated one without the date complication? i read that Panerai were going to remove the date from newer batches of the 424
