Pam392 gaining time

I ordered a Pam 392 with the seagull st2555 movement. I got the QC pics and they look great. The TD put the watch on a timegrapher and it is 21800bph which I think is good but it is +14 seconds. What can be done? I was told that 30 seconds off either way is fine. I disagree. I think +/- 6 is acceptable.

Will that change after winding and using? Should I insist it be adjusted or a different watch?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

My preference would be better than +14, but +6 is actually tighter than COSC spec, I believe... which I think is -4 to +7. And if you're not wearing the same watch for days or weeks at a time, +14 is just fine. And this is just an assumption, but I would think the standards on a seagull are less than that of an ETA-ish movement.

I was looking into the 7s26 Seiko movement because I was looking into swapping and i think the tolerance there was something around +/-30.

Seriously -/+6 is asking for way too much, as even COSC standard is -4/+6. You'll need to go gen for that kind of performance.

In comparison, the mighty strict Fleurier standard, if its a relevant standard at all, is 0/+5.

+14 may seem bad but we're talking reps costing 10% of the original, most of the time even less than that.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm new to this so that's why I'm asking about this. But isn't it a matter of a few adjustments or are these rep movements just not able to be adjusted that well. I've read some reviews and seen some pictures of watches on timegraphers that were adjusted far better than +/-14 seconds on this site.

By the way, is it possible or likely that this will change after wearing and use of the watch? I assume it's been sitting and not wound until I requested it. What affect does that have on the watch?
Is it better to be fast than slow in terms of correcting itself?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with reps yet, but based on gen, a new unit isn't expected to reach peak accuracy until all the parts lubrication sets in, basically a break in period.

If you check out the reviews and members' experiences with reps, a new rep usually comes in with barely any, or even no lubrication. This, based on what I know, can affect accuracy quite a bit.

Sorry I can't be of much help on this, but no worries the more experienced members here will most likely have some better inputs for you.

TD had the pam392 adjusted. The readings are now +7s/d, 295º, 0.6ms, 52.0º, 21600. Im not to happy with the 0.6ms. The readings before adjustment were: +14s/d, 318º, 0.1ms, 52.0º 21600. What do you guys think? Is this better or worse?

Thanks

I would take +14sec/day in the time error anyday over 0.6m beat error.

In the first place +14 sec is really acceptable.
