Snagged a fabulous deal on this PAM389 from an online auction. I was all set to snag it with Bidslammer but a few minutes before the end fleabay pulled the listing.
Luckily the seller reposted it as BuyItNow a few hours later with the dial blanked-out but I recognised the strap and got it before anyone else noticed.

Super happy with it but I've searched RWI and can't find any other 389s in the M2M in a P-series so I don't know which factory this comes from.
It does seem to be the correct titanium, compared to my titanium EcoDrive.
However, it does seem to have the non-aligned bezel issue with others have had with some makers...... but again it's that P-series that makes me wonder.

I have tried to get the back off (after removing the plastic) but it's on so tight even the rubber gloves trick failed to budge it and I don't want to resort to tools.

Can I ping one of you fantastic Pan mods for your opinion on it please?

Hello.

No, this is not one of the factories that we usually discuss here. It's not the expensive rep that pops up here sometimes, everything should be around $150.
Inside, I believe the ST2555 is the least expensive movement that replaces the P.9000.
Also, I would like to note that with the maximum degree of probability, this is not titanium, but a coating. Titanium submersible in this case should weigh no more than 125g.

In any case, you have to start somewhere, and this is not a bad start. Perhaps later you will come across a good VSF PAM389.

Many thanks KOT1917
Not the news I was hoping for, but at least it answers some questions for me.

Delicately saying it's not a great rep. Here's my VSF version to compare.

Btw, why did you buy this one if VSF can still be ordered from a TD?

Thanks for the replies, guys, and also the pictures of your VSFs to compare. You folks obviously know more (which is why I ask for your opinions) but to me I can't see any difference between mine and yours. The big giveaway for me is it definitely weighs more than 125g so I think KOT is right about it being a coating.

Many reasons - buying isn't that simple considering it seems to need a host of PMs to TD to arrange, when I'm used to just buying on a website job done without the hassle.
Also the time it takes from ordering to arrival, plus the risk of customs seizing it, meaning an even longer wait, and no doubt having to justify/prove it's been seized and not trying to scam another watch off the TD.
Money's not an issue to me, it's the time and the hassle. Yeah okay, I've acquired three lemons from eBay so far, but I also got a VSF so it's not all bad. And they are wearable and quite nice watches, if not true reps.

I can't say that I understand what the problem with ordering from a TD is, besides the fact that it takes a little time.

Main thing, if you don't see a difference and you're happy with what you bought, just wear it and have fun!

If you can't see the glaring differences I don't know what to say. Nothing on that watch is close to accurate. That's something you'd see at a flea market for under $100. Look at that crown guard. Just as a starting point.

The only thing to say is that ignorance is bliss in the rep hobby.

If he likes his 389, then let him be happy. Not worth the time to point out flaws - did a quick search of previous posts and this is par for the course.

What did you pay for this piece of junk as money is not an issue to you.

Ouch. Nasty.
I might have stuck around and learnt the differences over time. But no, several of you chose to do some personal attacks instead.
Congratulations, you just lost a member (and potentially a future supporter) on here.

Hope it gave you brave hardmen a boner.

Personal attacks? I didn't see any, comments were about your reps only, get off your high horse mate.

Really if you want to buy whatever junk you can find be my guest, but if you wanted to learn something, telling us that you don't see any difference between those reps is not the way to go. If you wanna learn, accept the fact that you bought a piece of junk, try to look for differences or ask people about them.

Anyway, if because of this you wanna go, I doubt anyone will miss you.
