Pam 386 should be avoided. Cloudy reflective crystal makes it a non starter for me.

I have a PAM 386 I bought back in August. I bought the 1.1v SS version and it feels great on the wrist. Like the review states, the weight is what throws off the accuracy of the watch.

As for the finish, my 1.1v still had a slight purplish haze to it, not noticeable if you're unfamiliar with this issue.

Lastly, considering it has the a7750 movement, its OK. I have to send my watch back to the TD and have the movement fixed (stopped keeping time).

Good luck!

P.S. I JUST received my PAM 390 in the mail...night and day difference in quality and accuracy vs my first PAM (the 386). Only negative side is the manual winding, but thats grown on me.

Meaning 390 has superb quality compared to 386? Can you post the side by side comparison pic? Thanks

Exactly meaning that. The 390 can be improved by a new noob CG if you're a perfectionist, but still it would make THE super rep.

But why are you asking these guys? Honestly, if you have never ever seen (and will not) a gen 386 (me neither...) why care about accuracy SO much? The ones who know the watch, handled the gen are paneristis. Why you want to fool them? Rest of the people on Earth have no fkn clue about Panerai, not to mention a particular SE model....

If you like the design, go for it!
If it does not appeal you, sell as mint watch with some discount here.
If it talks to you why wearing, wear it in good health (and give a darn service to the a7750:D).
If you like it and get bothered by flaws, start modding it.

Do not get bothered by problems that are non-existent in life.... my 2 cents.

Well said Karesz

Many people ask me why I am so tolerant of the quality of the replicas when I'm considering QC pics or when I buy them, and, however, I'm obsessively analytical and hard in the reviews.
Our hobby consist on that, to be analytical with the replicas to find the issues and to find the solutions. If you are no analytical you will not be able to find correctly the issues and then you will not have solutions. The replicas are improving due to the analysis of the owners, fans and reviewers.
But when you are going to buy a concrete and already studied replica, you must know you are dealing with a replica, many times less expensive than the coresponding gen.
Analysis and purchase are completely different things. Like a replica and a gen

Bear it in mind and you will enjoy your hobby !! and will save money !!

Well said, Ale! I'm wearing my Fiddy from Davidson at the moment, and love it. Cost me about 2% of what a genuine Fiddy goes for on ebay. Is it perfect? How could it be--but it is gorgeous, blazes like a torch at night, my Gunny strap for it is gorgeous, and I've never met anyone who would know the difference between it and a genuine. I also tell people it is a replica.

Karezs, ALE,

I'm at the verge of pulling the trigger, both of you are the catalyst.
Damn, I need to explain to my wife again.

Karesz and me??
No my friend you are already infected with PAM disease. Sorry, no cure.
Well, you can read the PAM GUIDE every evening to get some relief.
As always the wife will be the problem. Try to buy some watch for her
