Hey guys,

Has anyone had AR treatments done on their 382 (Bronzo) or 616 (Carbotech). The reflection on my carbotech is terrible, the bronzo is a little better.

I am concerend about doing to 2x because the surface area of the glass is so large and it getting scratched. Is single sided AR worth it? Both of mine are Saphire glass with single factory coating.

I have done it on all my reps. I have used Taka. For me it makes a world difference. I would highly recommend it. I have being doing it for more than 5 years and have not scratched a sigle watch. The ar is quite tough.
i have done the ar on my pam 382,569,389. What a difference it made

Taka and prof Steve are the best 2xAR doers, I have only work with prof Steve. A 2xAR crystal for your Pam is gonna cost you $168 USD as they are huge.

I have been using Taka aka wenda aria for 8 years. I know he was offline for some time a few years ago. His service has greatly improved as his comunication too. His 2xar is just out of this world. I think he still charges 80 euro for pam crystal.

Are you guys taking the crystals out and sending them or sending the entire head? If taking out, does anyone know of a good reference on how to take a crystal out?

Not normally an easy thing to do by yourself for example the Pam with A6497 you have to open the caseback, remove the crown/stem from the movement (you can **** up the keyless if you do this wrong and off to the watchsmith it goes!) remove the movement retaining clips, decase the movement and use a crystal press to take out the crystal, sometimes you will need a new gasket when changing crystals.

You would then ship out the crystal to prof or taka and they do the AR and ship back, you then do the same steps in reverse but now your dial may have gotten dirty or they crystal and dial may have gotten lint, dust, fingerprints, etc. you need a good quality crystal press too which can cost $400-500 for a medium quality one as the eBay ones of $100 usd can break your expensive crystal , etc.

My solution is to take the Watch to a WS to have the crystal removed and then do the same and have a WS install it back.

Hope that helps !

Thanks for this. I had the same thought. Big shaky hands and tiny screws aren't a match made for happiness.

Don't forget to remove your existing AR from your rep crystals before you send them for new AR treatment. Any trace of the old AR will interfere with the application of the new AR and result in a blemish or something worse.

Nice tip, thank you, I thought prof Steve did this ? So you have to actually remove all stock AR? I'm sure I saw a tutorial for this somewhere here , by using a dremel tool
