Hi gentlemen,

I’m buying a Pam312 VSF P9000, apparently the first version is out of production so they’re offering me a V2 R from VSF with same movement.

I would highly appreciate any comments, if it’s basically the same watch as the O version? It appears there’s an improvement is the bi directional date change.

Thanks.

Looks like they put the new P9000 clone into the 312. If that's the case then it's much more than just becoming bi directional, it's the same as per gen.

Turn a blind eye to the subtle differences on the CG and this watch is one of the best reps ever. Even with the open caseback.

May I ask how is the reliability of this movement? I too looking for Pam312.
Understand that the-good-old A6497 manual wind is as solid as stone how about the current clone of P9000 series movement?
Will there be any replacement part should any of it need to replace?

Am sorry for digging up this old thread, Pam section have been too quiet nowadays s:

No you don't need to replace anything. But if it's reliability you want to ensure, a servicing would do it good. That said, I've had a P.9001 V2 movement (with an additional GMT complication) and it works a treat even after 18 months of ownership. ;).

Eyeing for Noob v4 111 or this 312, haven't make up my mind on this. Tough choice ????

Another question, just for knowledge purpose..

this P9000 series movements are true clone from Gen (similar to A6497) or decorated 7750/seagull?

A6497 is handwinding! P.9000 Gen (and Rep) is automatic movement. I think in the 7750 version a great movement.

Yeah I'm well aware of A6497 is manual movement.. Just like the latest Noob 4130 is true clone from Gen Daytona, A6497 too is full clone of Gen movement..

I'm asking if the current P9xxx in reps are true clone of Gen P9xxx or a decorated 7750/seagull.

I'm sorry if I didn't ask correctly previously ????????

It depends on your definition of true clone. The factories use Superclone to describe the current P.9000 movement. You couldn't swap parts with the gen movement but they look like externally and function like the gen movement. Internally, it could be slightly or largely different (pending a side-by-side teardown of both the gen and rep movements).

I wonder if this movement is 7750 based and can use some parts of an ETA7750

Thanks for the info. Yes true clone I do mean functionality and interchangeable parts with Gen, well at least 80% of the parts do-able for A6497, SA4130, SH3135 etc.
But of course if the P9xxx reps are reliable enough one wouldn't need to replace any component at all.

Still reading more about Pam, my understanding so far is the movements are generally reliable enough a good movement service can give most of it a good run for few years easily.

Please correct if I am wrong.

Yes, a competent watchsmith can extend the life of a movement by servicing it. But so far, none of my reps, even those which are more than 3 years old, have shown signs of needing such a service. YMMV
