Hey Guys!

I need some hp from you all. I recently got a PAM292 and one of the strap bars is not fitting that well when the screw is tightened. It doesn't seem to be going in completely. Also those silly plastic sleeves on the end that inserts to the case are crap!

I was looking to get these : http://www.panatime.com/nesetforrawa.html

Does anyone know if these will fit?? Or does anyone have experience with this and know some that will fit??

thanks for your help!

I believe they do. I order a set for backup myself when I got my 292.

Panatime is a good solution... if you have not damaged the thread of the case

did you actually put them on your case? I got mine today and they DO NOT fit. I feel like if I even remotley tried to bend them into place I would damage the case. They are really wobbly too, even with the new screw fully tightened. Did I get a bad case or is this normal??

The bottom is the original. You can see how the one from panatime is much more straight than the original.

Kind of of disappointed to be honest. Luckily Toro is a standup guys and is sending me another set.

Changing straps on a Radiomir is one of my least favorite past times. It can be maddeningly frustrating.

I have replaced many stock lug sets with Panatime's and have never had issue. I will say that the rubber gaskets they put on the end can be problematic -- can't tell from your pics if they're on there or not. I have had to remove those in order to get a good fit. May be worth tinkering with while you wait on Toro's replacements ....

I've never used those connected pieces. My clumsy hands can't get them to engage properly. I have used strap tubes, though.

Depending on the material of your strap (I.e., if it's rigid enough) I have found that you probably don't need either if you tighten the screws properly.

Aint even close to fitting. If o even tried I would bend or break that sleeve. Not to mention when I do get both bars in with the strap on, the bars stab into my strap...and are still moving hah!

Ditch the connector -- place both bars into your strap. Pinch them together and guide them into the case at the same time -- don't worry about crimping your strap, but remember you're working upside down. Wiggle them in there to make them snug. Then screw down through the case. You may need to push one side tight, screw it in and then do the same with the opposite side ( it can be hard to get them both in and hold it steady). Straighten up your strap and you're good to go

+1 ^^^ This is my trick too when changing straps on the radiomirs put the bars in the strap first. Just don't do what I do and tighten up too much and cause a bump in the case [emoji23]

Thanks for the advice guys. I am still not even comfortable with how these bars interact with my strap. They still wobble up and down when the screw are tightened. Oh well I will wait for Toros replacements.

Google the bic pen modification. That's what I did. I'm still using the original lugs.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/3533...f that fiddly little collar- How about a fix

I don't get the difficulty in using the metal sleeve though. Worked in every Rad I've owned or own.

I am not having any difficulty using the sleeve with the original bars. When I use the sleeve with the new panatime bars, they will not fit.

maybe I just have to accept that the bars will wobble a little. Doing that pen mod will not help keep the bars from moving (At least not from moving up and down in the holes). I am kind of confused as to what purpose that serves? I guess it makes the lug wires a bit more stable and doesn't allow them to rotate. I will have to try once I get my new lug wires from Toro.

Just my $0.02.

Yes, the replacement bars do look less angled than the replacements. No one seems to be commenting on that. With a metal sleeve, I don't see how they can ever fit.

BUT, I just changed out the strap on a 292.

When I went to tighten the screws, they tightened OK but the bars were not properly attached.

What I found was that the indents on the bars need to receive the screws - DUH. If I pushed the bars fully home then the screws were not actually going into the grooves in the bar. Withdrawing the bars very slightly allowed the two pieces to mate properly. You'd think that Panerai would thread the bars, wouldn't you? But, then they'd need a larger diameter.

Didn't notice any washers either on the rep screws or on the rep bars.

I have an Puretime 292J and i change strap few times so far no problem with the bar. The only issue i have is some time the screw will lose a bit and just need to tighten it and everything will be fine.
