Hi Folks,
I've been wanting to take decent photos of my Panerai collection. The Sub and Rad are recent addition. Amazing reps they are.
I would consider my collection complete once I get my hands on a GMT watch (PAM029), OP logo watch (PAM000) and the PIG watch (PAM411 maybe?).

Anyway here's my small PAM collection:

Nice collection

But the Luminor Marina has not sandwich dial and then is not a 177.

It seems a watch with L SWISS L sausage dial. Many details look gen

Since the dial seems black it is not a PAM 118. Or is it Brown?

ALE

EDITED: Can be a PAM 177 G-series with sausage dial , because the sandwich dial started in H-series. Sorry

PAM 177G?

not all 177s are sandwich.

and if it's not a gen 177G then I'm impressed.

OMG!
Thanks MMs
You are right !!
It is a 177 G-series with sausage dial, because the Sandwich dial started in H-series !!
I should read my PAM GUIDE more frequently... LOL...
Caseback engraving with Millesimation GXXX/500 is correct.

It is a gen, isn't it?

You need a 47mm!
Simply too big. Always loved the Fiddy and actually sit well on my wrist. Who knows I change my mind later.

You guys simply show how much you know Panerai. You can tell a watch from a lousy picture. AMAZING!
Yes it is the G series, the first production of 177. It was produced to replace the discontinued 118.
I wanted to buy the PAM118F at the time but it was difficult to get a NOS.
Then an event happened in the Paneristi. Elliot Lazarus decided to create his own forum called Via Paneristi and to celebrate the grand opening he auctioned a number of new Panerai. There was no love for 177 (no bidder) and so I ended up winning a brand new watch for a fraction of the price. Elliot was a gentleman and he honored the price.

First batch of PAM177 are made with sausage dial (G series 500 pcs), the rest are with sandwich dial. So MMs was right.

OK I'll stop here. As I grow older I tend to talk much more than needed.

man...

the 177G is one of my top 4 favorite pams, you have a real winner right there.

I'm a sucker for the movement and the sausage dial personally. on my list of gens
I want to buy, the 177G is sitting at number 5. it's so great that you got it for a
great price too, even better. lucky guy you are.

Thanks MMs, lucky me you missed the auction back in 2004 :D

One thing that some people are unaware of:
The titanium adds character to the watch. Out of the box the case is like brushed steel. The more you wear it, the darker it'll become.
Back then some people even soak the watch in Oxyclean to expedite oxidation process, thus giving the watch a lot darker look. If you left the watch in oxyclean for a week (I used to keep the photo of someone did it in Paneristi), the watch will come out really dark grey with matt finish.

Thanks phidik

That can be an interesting info for darker Ti fans. Surely there are a lot of them in this forum.
