PAM1661 Carbotech cheaper versions made of ss coated with carbon layer?

Hi there all! I just wanted to know if anyone out there has had any experiences with cheaper versions of the PAM1661 being SS coated with carbon paint?
I just tried to buy a $200 one yesterday from DH gate and I just cancelled my order because my friend showed me a case made of SS painted multiple times to look like carbon. he said that's probably what I had bought. hopefully I dodged a $200 bullet! also, I've been reaching out to a few TD's and nobody has a VSF version. if anyone knows someone pls pm me. I'm new and don't know a lot about purchasing from TD's without a website but I'm willing to learn.

PS. Before you go laying into me for being so stupid as to purchase a PAM on DHGATE, please know I just bought a VSF PAM1025 and a TTF PAM1312 last week from two different TDS on here so I've reached my budget for the month I just couldn't justify spending $1000 on Reps in one month

Real carbon case pam1661 is just from vsf. You can tell the difference from a mile away.

I was in the same boat as you at one point. I bought 2 and wanted more but couldnt justify spending another $500. But then I saw its better to pay the 500 so extra 300 to buy a much better quality then to buy a 200 dollar one and have it look like crap which can cause you to not wear it ever, so you end up wasting 200. So either buy a VSF or wait till you can.

That’s a beautiful watch, but correct me if I’m wrong. Isn’t the gen case and bracelet more grey? This seems very black to me.

It depends on the angle you see the watch because of the carbon (many layers and it is brushed)

50pc was the PAM0700 in 49 mm the Lab-id the 1661 is based on. The 1661 is available on Chrono24 and panerai.

The Lab id is also available, but for like 60k€

But one was 15mm one was 18.5mm. Gen is 14.5mm.

The 15mm wasn't available from jtime (so I'm assuming noone else can get it either?)

An extra 4mm in thickness vs gen seems like a dealbreaker to me.

There is no p9010 superclone. There is a p9000 super clone, that is engraved as p9010, but balance wheel etc are wrong.

Thanks guys. Based on your recommendations I ordered the 15mm PAM 1661 from intime. I'm amazed at the service. I paid yesterday and they said 5-7 days for QC.

I got QC just 4 hours later so they obviously had one on hand.

I'm a newbie so this is my first time reviewing QC photos.

I'm not thrilled with the QC photos...the two dial photos are out of focus on the "SWISS MADE" at the 6 o'clock but on the whole I think the dial is good and I'm relatively confident the "swiss made" will be acceptable.

My issue is the strap. I know rep straps are usually crap, so I had low expectations for it, but the stitching looks REALLY bad to me.

I'm inclined to RL. But if ALL the straps are going to be crap I don't want to play a game of RLing 3x and then settling if none of them are going to be any good.

Should I expect better on the stitching?

Also, would it be appropriate for me to request a pic with calipers showing the thickness as there do appear to be the two different VSF variants or should I just trust that I'm getting the 15mm one since thats what i ordered?

Watch looks great. The stiching will be so so its a rep. I didnt think there was 2 models. But everything looks good to me. Dont be too picky. Overall are you happy. Perfection can only be had with a Gen which is $15k. Everything that matters looks good.
