Puretime has the PAM1616. Such a shame they keep repping 47mm models. That's big enough to hang on the wall.

It’s nice I liked the watch when it first came out the. It kinda fell off my radar
Now looking forward to the military version 961 for this fall

Nice to see another Pam release! Did they mess up the lume colours though, blue hour and seconds hands!? Maybe the production version is different than the Panerai website?

I found a pic of the gen PAM1616 side-by-side to the 42mm PAM960 version. That's just ridiculously large.

It may seem large to you, but to most who actually wear 47mm PAMs, not really. Comparing it to a 42mm watch is belaboring the obvious (a 47mm watch like the PAM1616 would be 10% larger than the 42mm PAM960). It really depends on your preference. Have you tried on a 47mm PAM? What's your wrist size?

I get that its personal preference but they'd sell a lot more of them in more reasonable 44mm and below sizes, especially when the identical gens are available in smaller sizes. Cheaper to make, harder to spot flaws and don't look clownish on the wrist (even large wrists).

Factories aren't going to be swayed by sales predictions. Being older in this hobby than me, you probably know this already. They will produce what they want and stop production when they want. A 42mm might appear more saleable to those who want it, but the last 42mm submersibles (PAM682, PAM684) might not have sold that well so they are hesitant to make more of that size.

I didn't wear 47 mm before. Also thought they were to large.
But the difference to 44 mm is hardly noticeable.

I also have a 42 mm 682. And when it comes to dress watches, I prefer 40 mm or smaller.

However, PAMs are different. Especially the submersibles.

Just bought an 616. Think I will wait for the 961.

The 960 with blue lume does look nice, but I assume they must have stocks of the bigger Carbotech case size. Puretime tell me the 1616 isn't expected for another week or so.

I'd argue the opposite. In my experience gen 47mm sell well and 42mm languish...

44 does sell the fastest, especially bettarini case here in Japan, but subs are great in 47.

I hope they can fix the lume around the inside edge of the hands. If they nail that, this one will be hard to beat...
