I also posted this in the Panerai section, but thought maybe the request belonged over here.

So My 1507 is on the way and I have learned that the GMT function on the watch is not a true 24hr GMT like the GEN. Does anyone here know if the Seagull ST2557 movement can be swapped with what the 1507, in order to make the GMT function work properly? If so, does anyone know who can/would do this for me?

ST2557 specs:
SEAGULL ST2557 Automatic Movement
Outer Diameter: 30.40 mm
Thickness: 7.40 mm
Balance wheel frequency : 21,600 times/hour
3 Hands
Date
Jewels: 30

Thanks,

Mark

Hopefully someone knowledgeable chimes in about the potential compatability. I'm curious to know as well.
Who cares about a decorated movement on piece that does not have an exhibition caseback? I would think members would want accuracy everywhere else instead of spending time/money on something you will rarely or maybe never see 🤷‍♂️

Different strokes for different folks. It would be cool if it were a straightforward swap.

Well, whenever mine gets here, I am probably going to order the seagull movement and either try it myself or see if I can find someone to do it for me. The ST2557 can be had for roughly $20 or so. Seems inexpensive enough to at least try.
