hello i've just received the Pam127 by Marlin...
i had already a Pam127 by V6F and i takes some photos from both for a comparison.
the faces look similar, except for some datails:
- the CG pinion (looks so better in marlin)
- the glass looks better in marlin, have the distortion like gen (i think depends from the maker)
- crowns looks similar
- the CG lever looks reshaped in marlin but have much gap from the case

in the back the difference are more evident
all the movement looks more gen like... expecial for the jewels and the flatten screws that give to it a more gen like aspect.

but something looks not better how i thought. the brushing of the gear train it's not gen like how it should be ( i have a gen tag with same movement (eta 6497) and the gold brushed of gear train are different, maybe have different gears but in my gen it's a good look the gold are vivid, whereas in the marlin the gold looks faded.
Also the CG lever has too much gap... looks almost better the V6S.

If someone have a gen pam can tell me what is the best CG lever shape?
i tried to find some good pic in internet and sometimes look gen like the marlin lever shape other times looks better the V6F shape. have a look of the other pics to and tell me your opinion

CG and lever look way better in Marlin's imho. Maybe you're right and the tip should be closer to the case like v6f but all other details like engravings, lever tip CG pin are better in Marlin
About the gear train... Well it's no surprise gen is still better, but at the same time a fine eye can notice how better than stock v6f the movement finish is. Don't even get me started on how difficult it is to reshape that swan neck :)

Congrats you got the best possible 127 bar the gen :)

Exactly, the work put in by Marlin, the attention to detail and willingness to do all these mods is astonishing. Very few people around willing to go that far. You're lucky to have one!

I am very glad your marlin got to your place safely. My second international shipping from CONUS and it went very smoothly. Please post some wrist shot too.

I actually have a small write up on this in my section. I still recommend not spending the extra money on gen gear train, I even removed it from my options once the 127s got as expensive as they are now. I look at it this way. If your close enough, and know enough to notice that, then there will be many more tells that can be discovered. Remember, no rep will ever be as good as the gen or it would be a gen. Here is the link:

Joe I'm actually blown away by how good your movement actually is
I just compared it to my newly acquired GEN OP XI and it's pretty damn good !
Now I have three Marlin 127s and a franken .
Here is a photo of the comparison. View attachment 91934
