PAM127 dial comparison?

I know there have been many rep v rep/rep v gen comparisons... but I'm looking for a gen vs various rep shots of just the raw dial. No pics in various lighting conditions taken by different people being distorted by domed crystals. I know there have been a couple fiddy franken, has anyone ever done a comparison?

I've modded a few noobs and have a DSN dial and I will soon be modding a ZF for someone. So I'll at least be able to compare the zf to DSN, but since I've never seen a gen dial in person, I'm very interested in how different they look.

Maybe if someone here wants a kw127 relume, I could get dial shots of all three... hint hint someone out there

Also the dial font and number lume is very white on the Gen.
These reps looks a bit dull and not a true white.
Which Rep has the best dial in regards to white color and also Crystal stated above? Im still not 100% on which one to get

It would be interesting to see them all compared, though it would be best if all pics were taken with same camera, settings, lighting condition.

I have a franken 127 with gen dial and hands.
the dial printing and lume colour is not white, it's more of a cream white. I think in photos it can look white due to white balance of cameras and it not being able to adjust for it 100%
obviously in very bright lighting it can look more white as well.

If someone wants to send some rep dials my way, I'ld be more than happy to do a a photo comparison.

This is the only (terrible) photo I have of Noob versus gen 127 when I did a Fiddy Franken in 2014. The gen lume was not much better than the Noob lume, surprisingly: the numbers on the gen dial were cut more sharply, with the often remarked sharp 2 corner" on "12." The text print on the gen dial was a little more creamy yellow than the Noob text print, which was little more white. Larger hole for the canon pinion on the gen dial, as usual. There was some surface scuff on the gen which I had to repair. All in all, I do not think buying a gen Fiddy dial is really worth it. The reps are very, very good.

I totally agree that the rep dial is very very good, but to me the shape of the 2 and color difference on the text are very big tells. Once you notice, you can't un-notice.

BTW, I believe DSNs recent version has corrected text color.

How did you come about a GEN dial when 1950 of these were made? Does Panerai have back up dials incase something happens to them ? Im just shocked to see so many Gen Dials being sold now a days. LOL

DSN is a long time rep maker who conducts his own designs and projects.

Panerai makes many many extra dials for each model. Dials are frequently replaced during service.

Don't forget about the shape of the 1 as well, the part where the upstroke of the one meets the vertial line on the 1 is also much sharper on the gen.
I also Agree the rep dials are very good, but once you know what to look for, the differences are as clear as day.

Problem with kw dial is that its always greenish. The most obvious tell of all.
