Hey,

I normally dont keep rep straps on, but the 1176 strap is actually quite nice so have been rolling with it. I just looked down and the lug screw was halfway out of the case. I pull the straps off and the rep strap has rubber tubes in it vs metal (I have NEVER seen that before). What were they thinking? The rubber is worse than the strap fabric in terms of grip on the lug screw lol.

Thankfully I caught it before the screw fully came out and the watch fell. I just ripped out the rubber tubes and replaced everything with PAM spring bars instead. Think for the ceramic case PAMs spring bars are the best/safest bet. Ive actually switched a few watches to spring bars to avoid the threading issues that eventually come with the rep lug screws.

Anyway, FYI to anyone else who is using rep straps on their 1176 (or any other model really), worth checking before something bad happens.

Thanks- Tim

That´s quite easy to answer. The lugs are not very stable and if you use a steel tube you might have to use force to push it down when you want to change the strap. There´s a high risk of damaging the lug. The best way is to use a special Pam spring bar, like you already do. Rubber tubes are really a bad idea ;-)
