Assume all reps are not water proof until tested. Depending where you're located, there are many members on here that can water proof the watch for you.

Irregardless of what your TD might tell you, it is always a good practice to have the watch sealed by a local rep friendly watchmaker before taking the watch out to water.

Claiming and proving are two different things. As what has been mentioned, have your watch sealed locally by a rep-friendly watchmaker. THEN you can take it to water.
