Whats up guys! Looking to purchase a Noob PAM 111. From what I've read, the only downfall is that they are not waterproof from the factory. Was also thinking about eventually getting the watch modified from one of the forum vendors, but how bad is it from the factory?

I'm not going to be diving or swimming at all, but for everyday use i.e. shower, doing the dishes, washing hands, etc should be ok, correct? Apologies for the noob question. I've only had gen until this point but am completely blown away with the apparent quality of the rep game. Thanks!

get it tested locally.

Mine is ok for washing hands, dishes etc (i.e. Incidental splashes).

Due to rep assembly differences, it is Impossible to say how good the water resistance is on YOUR watch.

I NEVER wear a rep in the shower (unless I have it WR tested....even then, I don't see the point of a watch in the shower).

Got it. I usually rinse my watches under water and a bit of dishwashing soap to get it clean, and then use a microfiber. My wife thinks it strange, but its what I've done with all my watches, and haven't had a problem since haha Just have to find a watchmaker now!

I literally just posted this on another thread:

I ruined my first PAM111 because I trusted the TD claim about being waterproof and went swimming with it. DON'T DO IT!!! Spend a little money and have it professionally waterproofed and then tested to verify its air tight. I found Vaclume on this forum and he has done a couple of watches for me now. Trust me, it's worth the money not to have to replace a waterlogged rep.

Have it tested first. It's a service offered by our forum smiths. They'll grease the seals and even uv glue the crystal if necessary. It's worth the peace of mind
