Hi Guys,

Looking to buy my first pam and im stuck between the 111 noob and the 112. This is my first watch and am a true newbie so just wanted to know which one is better quality out of the two. I like the 112's simpler look but after reading the forums the 111 noob seems just like a better build. SO confused :( . Also has anyone ever ordered from Canada before from puretime? How was customs and was there any duties and stuff.

Get both :)

No, for the start it´s a simple descision if you like the base PAMs (112) or the the ones with little seconds (111) better.

111 Noob is the watch to buy considering quality atm tough.

The Noob 112N is as good as the Noob 111N.

The 112 have the same case, crystal and updated CG as the 111.
Just choose Your style (but You will end up with both, trust me).

I was in your position! I ordered a 111n but then luckily a second hand 112 came up on the for sale board and was local to me so I snapped it up.

The 112 has not left my wrist since and is great. I don't know which version it is but it looks great (to my eye at least).

Now I just have to hope the gf doesn't realise when a new one turns up.....!

All the noobfactory PAMs seem to be great quality. I have a 112 and am extremely happy with it :)

The 112 is a classy, understated watch due to the simplicity of the dial and case, yet makes a statement like all PAMs do. :)
The 111 is somehow a bit more 'sporty' and casual due to the seconds hand (IMHO ;)).

I can take or leave a 111 but the 112 would be kept if I had to slim down the collection to only a few (or maybe even only 1!) watch!

It doesn't matter which one you choose first, you'll end up with both!

I nearly bought a Noob 111 and ended up going for the 112 as I preferred the cleaner dial. I've not received my 112 yet and am already looking at what I'm going to get next!

Like others have said, build quality and all the parts (except for the dial) are the same on both watches. Just decide which look you like better!

Hate to throw it into the mix but there is also another 'super rep' which is the 360 or 390 which basically looks like the 112 but has a dark brown dial and maybe gold hands. Think it was a ltd edition one for panersti or something...might be worth a look!

Funny, I was going to start a post on this last night. Might go with the 112 as it seems to be a little less scarce than the 111

I have a Noob 112m that I got from Trevor and I love it. I actually got to play with a gen this weekend and it's as close as I will ever need. Yeah the incabloc isn't the same on the back and MAYBE the gen CG is a fraction sharper (inside edges) but it was impossible to tell unless they were right next to each other.

I was going to wait for the n version of the 112 but am glad I didn't. I love this thing, so classic.

@skwizzle - I've shipped watches from both Trevor and Puretime to Canada without an issue. The waiting is agony though.

Thanks Guys for all the info!! Greatly appreciate it. I have decided to go with the 112. I love the 112 but thought the 111N was better quality but since they are the same quality the 112 will be my first but prob not last pam :) Does anyone know if there is gonna be an update to the 112 anytime soon(like a 112N) because I read on other boards that there might be an update soon! Thanks guys :)

My first was a 112 also. No regrets! Be aware that you will end up with both anyway, so it doesn't really matter which you buy first. I too have bought many times from a variety of our dealers and never had an issue with Canada Customs. Welcome to the club

I can't think of all of the issues off hand but I think the largest difference between a 112m and 112n is the inside surface of the CG, on the N the corners are razor sharp and on the M they are SLIGHTLY rounded like slightly, we are talking about the exactl center of then angle. I felt that, along with the other differences were not enough to make me try and hunt down a 112n over the available m version trevor had.

Noob have updated the CG on the 112M to the same straight inside corners of the CG that he 111N have.
Still M series CB thou, at least on my QC.

I emailed Angus and asked if the quality of the 112M was the same as the 111N and he said they are the same - the case etc. He said they just have not updated the 112M to the 112N yet.

I was on puretime and noticed some 111's are priced $428 and some $258. They are both best editions and made by noob. Was wondering why a big price difference? Am I missing something here :) Are the $428 better quality?

The $428 had the Swiss ETA 6497-1. It's probably a marginally better made, more reliable movement, but not enough so to justify the additional cost. The asian 6497 in the cheaper version is a great movement, and is visually more accurately than the swiss. It's also high beat, unlike the swiss, which is like the gen.

I just received my 112 from a trade with another member and it is really a beautiful watch. I feel that the simplicity of the design is what gives it a certain "dignity".

Now, the search for the 111 begins!
