PAM111 servicing question

I have a new PAM111 (Noob v3, non-Y incabloc version) that I love but runs a couple of minutes slow every day. Also, if I let it run out, I sometimes have to give it a hard smack to get it started again after winding.

I found a local watchmaker who came highly recommended with decades of experience and very strong references who said he would be willing to service reps.

As a noob, my question is whether this is as good as it gets with the movement in this watch, or can a skilled watchmaker service it to keep better time and not require the smacks. Ideally I'd rather have it run a little fast than a little slow.

Thanks,
KP

You are a lucky man finding such a professional person and willing to work in reps
A6497 is a very simple movement. A good watchmaker will make a nice job on it
If you have those problems go ahead

The most 6497 Movements that comes from the TDs have bad Timings...
They show us only an Timegraph pic of less then an Minute...
Not all! But many...

So the fix will be easy... Hope only for you that you didn't get one of these official Watchmakers that seen a rep as 10,-$ Watch!

i know many of that guys :) Movement Serviced! Dial and or Hands Scratched... Hehe had that all seen.

So let us know the results...

Consider yourself blessed that a good watchmaker [not watchtech or watchguy] would work on your rep and its movement. In my part of town, guys like that have virtually disappeared. You will no longer have a watch after that service my friend. You will have a nice timepiece !!

i was also wondering about the same question as you too. where can i get my watch serviced after i getting mine.

tbh, its not easy to find a watchmaker who is willing to work on reps, even if we are willing to pay them, and on a simple movement.

good luck there bro. =)

He should be able to get it running well for you. A 6497 is capable of keeping excellent time.

I already got it back from him, which is superfast since it arrived to him just three days ago on Saturday, and both issues seem to have been fully addressed. Running smooth as silk and with great accuracy so far. Price was very reasonable as well!

Next up I'll be sending him my BPSD which seems to only run for about 2 minutes after winding.

airflix163 / all, I'm new to this forum but have been reading many interesting articles. I am also looking for a repairer in Western Australia for my Panerai 297, it just doesnt hold charge / power for long (several minutes) after I move it for a while. It seems to be stuck or loses all it's power extremely quickly... Did you get much luck finding someone to service it?
