Hi all
Thinking of buying a PAM111 N V3 through Tony at Asian 7750 and just had a question; I understand that the movement is Asian 6497 but Tony describes it as highbeat 21600 bph but I though high beat was 28800 bph?
Can anyone help with the answer?
Thanks.

Thanks for replying. What's the difference between high eat and low beat then?

High beat gives you a sweeping motion, low beat willl have a stutter to the second hand.

It's high beat in reference to that movement. There is a low beat (19800) version of that movement, as well. Look for the high beat version. The low beat has quality issues.

Hell no, good question.

You'll be very pleased with that watch.

The Incabloc mod that Puretime offers is well worth it BTW.

No my friend
This is the correct way to learn
You are welcome !

No worries about 21600 bph, this is the correct high beat for this kind of movement
28800 bph is the high beat for an A7750 movement for example

bph is the number of oscillations of the balance wheel per hour

Balance wheel is the "heart" of the watch and it is the wheel you see moving, oscillating quickly, inside the movement
It has the same function in a wrist watch as the pendulum in a big clock

Actually 18000 half vibrations per hour is considered as the base beat on watchmaking. Everything above that is called high beat.
