Has it possibly been exposed to magnetism? You may need to demagnetise it.

Got hairspring sticked or magnetism. Find your watchsmith , it's easy to fix.

Gaining/losing a few seconds per day isn't unusual, but 54 seconds a minute?! That means there is something terribly wrong with the movement and needs to be fixed. As what was advised, go find a watchmaker and have it fixed. That may merely need demagnetization or something more involved.

Thanks for the advice guys.
@mysterio when I say 54 seconds I mean to say it takes 54 seconds for a 60 second sweep. So in actual fact it's gained 6 seconds right?

Oh, so it's 6 seconds fast. :lmao: That teaches me to answer posts when I have not even taken a sip of coffee. Normally that would be easily adjusted by moving the regulator lever towards the "-" at the back. Adjust it a bit and measure the time. Do it until the watch is regulated. But if you don't know how or are anxious about touching your watch, better take it to a watchmaker.

Sorry a bad and vague explanation from me! Lol.
Ok cool that helps. Would the regulator happen to be the arrow shaped thing in between the "swan neck"?

Just a suggestion.

A demagnetiser on aliexpress cost less than 10 bucks including shipping and there are youtubes showing how to do it. May be worth a try although ali shipping can be quite long.

Yes, the one that looks like a dagger (I think that's also another name for it).

Be sure about what you are adjusting as there are two levers. If you adjust the wrong one you will destroy your watch...

The levers in question are the ones on the other side of the dagger. Like in this image:

The lever marked regulator is what moves the pointed tip or the dagger. The other one near the top is the lever that you should not touch. Even a small adjustment will wreak havoc with the regulation of the watch. Do not touch unless you are a watchmaker who knows what you're doing.

Thanks @mysterio. I was out and about so couldn't give much more info but this is a great picture of my brief warning.

That's quite alright. As long as any descriptive explanation we can possibly give, a picture will always be worth a thousand words. ;)
