What is the difference between these two other than the brown strap and 42 vs 47mm?

Well, 47 vs 42 is no small difference tbh ...
Anyway I noticed 1074 has a white pearl vs the vintage lume one on 671. Don't know if it's the same on gen.

Another hidden thing that is not told is for the replica, the 1074 vs 671 has a different chemical composition for bronze. The 671 rep bronze can get some heavy patina/green copper look, the 1074 rep cannot.

My 382 is 47mm and similar to the 671
I won’t part with it due to sentimental reasons but truth is since my 1074 arrived that’s the one I reach for.

42mm is small in Panerai terms but it is still a 42mm watch so fits me much better with a 7” wrist.

If I absolutely had to sell one I’d sell the 382 and keep the 1074

A little eggs and vinegar and mine developed patina no problem

All of you brought up good points that I am not good at picking out. I like the darker blue and bronze on the 671, looks cleaner or better contrast, IDK.

The lume I never noticed until mentioned and although patina is nice at times I prefer not to have to polish at my age and condition, 64 & terminally ill, I just want to wear and not work on it.

My Rolex rep 36mm and Movado gen Museum (prob the same size) fit my 7.5" wrist well, that could make the 47mm bulky for me.

Appreciate the input guys.

To clarify the 1074 would stay the same bronze color, correct?

I have already ordered the PAM 968 before this thread, will the Bronze need to polished on the 968?

How do you find out about the bronze? Is it from customers buying and report here that one will turn and the other will not or is there another way to find this out?

I ordered the 968 last week, I might be able to change it or just sell it.

Both 1074 and 671 will develop patina overtime, but due to their different composition the natural and patinated colors will differ a little.
I have an old KW 382 and a more recent ZF 968, the former was a more yellow tone while the other was more towards rose gold. They developed patina naturally with wear and weather exposition, they both got darker but they still retain their base difference. In all honesty I couldn't tell which one I like best.

Think I will pick up the 1074 and try it out, I will have to get a different band. I prefer a brown calf or alligator band.

If you prefer your bronzo (whichever version) to retain the fresh finish and not develop patina, you just need to submerge it in an acidic solution for 10 minutes once in a while. Denture cleaning tablets diluted in water also work well. No effort is required.

Good info I can do that.

I think the main thing here is that it is possible to buy 1074, but not a good 671. Moreover, if you ordered 968, you will definitely know how you like 47mm, and 42mm will be interesting for comparison. I had photos of comparison of gen PAM01074 and PAM00671, but alas, I could not find them in my archive. Returning to the questions raised in this thread, gen differ in diameter and movement, the rest changes only in proportion. Yes, on VSF PAM1074 the pearl is lighter than it should be - GEN has a uniform lume on all elements. On
VSF PAM1074 there is a detailed thread and a huge mass of notes on the quality of REP. As for PAM671, you need to look for XF V2, and then it will be good in everything, except for movement, which does not have the gen function, but this will not be quick and easy. So, if I were you, I would be happy with a pair of VSF 968 and 1074, with all their shortcomings, and I realized which I like better.
