Hey guys, I came across this H Fac PAM088 posted on pf-818, scroll to the bottom of the page and there are a ton of pics of a side-by-side comparison with a gen.

http://www.pf-818.com/0-pn088n01-pam-088n-gmt-ss-ru-black-a-7750-28800.html

With my newb eyes, my brief assessment is

Dial; overall not bad, picked out the following flaws;
1. The 24 hr numbers are too close to the edge of dial vs the gen.
2. The minute markers look a touch finer on the gen.
3. The point on the GMT hand is quite inaccurate imo.

CG & Crown
1. Crown looks ok and the thickness seems the same.
2. CG lever top is a lot smaller on the gen.
3. CG lever 'triangle' pressing the crown is not same shape.
4. Face on the CG shape looks spot on.
5. Side profile of the CG, the top right hand side above the screw (when lever is in open position) is very slightly thicker on the gen.

Case shape
1. Front on, they look identical.
2. From the side profile, I think the most obvious flaw is the lugs, the gen has sharper, longer lugs.
3. Case back looks ok, but hard to compare with each under different lights.

The lume looks spot on.

Even after pointing out those flaws, I still think this is a darn good rep.

Thoughts from the community?

It's already been reviewed if you check out the guide (H-fac is super rep but Noob factory is still the best option). But props to you for making the effort.

Do you mean ALE's guide? I've read it, a fine post. Since it was written a long time I'm not sure how relevant the direct comparison is now. Since new versions have been produced and Hfac upped it's game.

From my reading the Noob v4 is the preferred option, however I've read posts from ALE suggesting it's near impossible to receive a complete v4.
Another piece of information I've had from my TD is that Noob are running down their PAM stocks and won't be producing anymore, this seems crazy and it'd be good to hear if any other forum members have heard the same.

If this is true then we need to take a closer look at HFac PAMs to see how good they are in their modern guise.

There is no new version of the PAM088N (PC's new website is nice, but it's the same old rep). Unless you know something I don't, the last version from H-Factory N series was August 2013, incidentally an I-series PAM088 was also released by H-fac on March of the same year. The N series was judged as a Super Rep as I mentioned, but the Noob version was still slightly superior. No updated version was released between then and now.

The Noob V4 if the preferred option, for the PAM111 not the PAM088. Each PAM has their own unique version. As for your TDs piece of information (if it's from PC or Trusty, and it's bad news about Noob, which certainly looks like it based on the wording, I'd generally take it with a grain of salt, wait, make that a kilogram  ), the Noob sale was announced June of 2016, so your news is already part of history. In fact there is already a thread on this matter if you checked before you posted (which is wise especially with such alarming news such as this one). Looking at H-fac PAMs, while certainly worthwhile, is very limiting. The Noob/H-fac rivalry for rep PAM supremacy has long been dead. Why not look at ZF, KW/V6F, SF and the recently arrived VSF factories? Each factory has introduced PAMs that can certainly hold their own against Noob and H-fac. In fact, some of those models neither Noob nor H-fac have never produced.

Some useful info Mysterio thanks.

Regarding the speculation of Noob, my query was not about the sale, it was about whether they're running down PAM stocks and possibly not producing any more. I did state that this was hearsay and was interested to hear if any other member had heard the same.

Running down PAM stocks = sale. How else could they deplete inventory? If they were giving them away, I sure would be pissed if I didn't get some of that. Operations at the Noob factory, before and now under new management, is unknown even to the TDs, they only know that they can sell specific Noob watches (not all of them) at a low price. Also, like I mentioned there is already a thread on this. It should be in the first 10 pages of the section.

Sorry, when you said 'sale' I thought you were referring to the companies sale to the new mgmt. Rather than sale = knockdown prices.

Hey, I'm trying to find out whether the HFac N series 088 has concentric rings on the 9 o clock sub dial or not.

I've conducted a detailed search of the forums, including looking through ALE's guide, which says the Noob O series has concentric rings, but it does not say whether the H Fac has or has not got concentric rings.

Any H Fac 088 owners out there, please let me know. Thanks!
