thats actually a great joke. i am a fan of mathematics.

the only difference i see is that the 050 uses a steel bracelet. the "automatic" on the dial i believe iv seen on both.

big fan of the 048 though. you will be soon in my possession. muhahaha..

...Panerai is a joke. I was at the AD and could look at some 40mm PAMs some weeks ago, and asked about the differences on them. The ONLY and ONE difference on them, is indeed the steel bracelet.
And why is that a different model? ´Cause PANERAI jokes around, not making the bracelets/straps interchangeable...

...So, to sum it up, if you get a GEN Panerai with leather strap, you can´t install a GEN bracelet on it cause it won´t fit. the lugholes are completely different, as my AD told me.That´s why they have so many models, cause of Dial colors and Strap/bracelets variations...
PAM48 & 50 - black dial
PAM49 & 51 - white dial
..with leather and steel bracelet respectively. (there are the ones with Titanium casing and bracelet too...)

I don´t know how the reps work in this matter, but I guess they don´t have this strap/bracelet problem, so I still want to get a PAM48 and put a stell bracelet on it too.

Personally I am a great fan of gravity. Gravity, however, is no great fan of mine.

The 048 is on strap and does not have a 9 marker:

maybe pam just has a lot of different variations of the same damn watch.

Just checked on Paneristi.com and there the 050 doesn't have the 9 o'clock marker as well.

Correct, just like the "Automatic" text on the dials. Different series have slightly different dials. That is a common theme with Panerai...

the 048 and 050 are identical with the difference being strap and bracelet

starting with the K series (2007) the 048 and 050 both have markers at 9

the bracelet and strap are completely interchangeable.
