PAM029 or PAM005 (Which would you pick?)

I am so torn.

I've been waiting for the upgraded 005 to come out for sometime now but during the wait I had been examining the other PAM super reps, namely the 029 and 243.

While I don't find the 243 that attractive the 029 has really grown on me. That tuxedo dial is just so sexy but I'm not a huge fan of the bezel.

I'm looking for something somewhat dressy but still sporty for semi-formal/formal occasions and as close to gen as possible.

So my question to you is, what would you pick and why?

029 is a great rep but I found it does not work well with a wide variety of straps like the 005 and other models do

Pam005 between the 2. But my favourite is the PAM312. 50's case, date, sub seconds dial, its got all I need in a watch. I have both the gen and the rep.

Pretty damn good work they did. Just don't hand over the watch and flip it over. Hehe..

For me it is the purity of the 005--which is why I'd go for a 112 because it is simpler still :wub:. Having said that, I also have a 243 and just love it. I took a chance and bought one of the new Asso rep straps for it from Puretime ($40, if I recall). I gotta say the quality is far better than I expected and certainly worth the money.

i would pick the pam 029. assuming the quality of the 005 is the same as the v2 pam 029, the reasons i would pick the 029 is:

1. 029 is automatic. no need for winding every 48 hrs, can use as a daily pam.
2. 029 has gmt and date. way more practical/feature rich.
3. the tapestry dial, bezel, hands (especially big seconds hand) make this pam feel like an upgraded pam i.e. best of both worlds, basic pam style + features/look of other popular watches (i.e. bezel and gmt like rolex explorer, tapestry dial like rolex datejust and new aqua terra models).

if you prefer a more classic/simple style, then the 005 is the way to go. if you want a "upgraded" pam, the 029 would be good.

Actually the watch that got me into liking PAMs was the 351. Pretty similar but with a brown dial/gold hands. Unfortunately with an exhibition back I wont be considering these options until they have a good clone of the p.9000.

Yes, As soon as noob comes out with the 390 or H-Fac fixes its crownguard I'll buy it!
I was considering swapping crownguards/cases between h-fac and noob but I don't really want to deal with that :lol:. So until then I'll wait.
