dial was originally a sandwich dial. i filled the cutouts w tritium coloured dough and baked it to set it. the hands were coloured to match the markers. dial was then treated w mink oil to give it patina

case was polished a few times to lighten the pvd colour, smooth out the pvd and create the patina that u see.

cannon pin polished.

screwed were changed to standard panerai screw modded to fit DSN case.

put on a distressed toscana marina 2 natural w TC pvd buckle and gen tobacco croc w ion plated buckle.

Look very good and it is a very good job on this work. I am also a pvd lover. Could you give some more on how to polish to lighten the pvd. Thanks.

That's a great looking watch.

I'm starting to get interested in PVD based on your pics.

Have a 005 dial upgrade coming from DSN.... and maybe I should try my hand at a 009

i basically used both capecod cloth and a jeweller's polishing cloth. cape cod the whole case a few times (i did that twice) to remove the top, rough layer of PVD coat to smooth out the finish. wash it w detergent and polish again with the jeweller's cloth. then capecod the whole case but pay particular attention to the edges of the case to take out more pvd from the edges to give it the well handled look. the uneveness of the pvd coating will result in some spots getting polished to a lighter colour, giving the patina.

the pvd on the crown is really thick! i'm still trying to get it to look used..

:)

the first batch of DSN's pvd is great!! subsequently he changed the CG to a bigger one which imho is nt accurate for the a/b series.

how did u make the pin on the crown guard looks flat? That's nice.

small mod using a sharp jeweller's screwdriver to slowly take out the metal. then used a black sharpie to colour it. :) didn't realise that anyone will notice such a minor detail..

cause the flatness of the pin is one of key issues in identifying gens vs reps...this one is really good

That looks great, really stealth. Might have to add a PVD Pam to the collection.

Dukas, DSN's PVD case is really nice (looks nicer in person).

I have both Standard Rep and DSN's PVD cases, and it makes a huge difference in appearance.

Go for it! :)
