I decided to buy this watch two years ago. As usual, I wrote a letter to Davidson and the answer I shokiroval- ram002 a / b Series discontinued! It was a blow below the belt ...
I was only one option, to order the dial-set from Rollie, but my budget was categorically opposed.
So I started my search for any repetition great base Panerai 002.
In recent months I despaired and lost all hope, but my old friend decided to help me and gave me a face and body PAM002.
I am well aware that this version is a replica (Davidson 2014 final release) has a lot of flaws, but that does not stop to admire these watches. Many models of pre-school and the old are gone forever into the past. Too bad Dave stopped selling 70% of its range. Perhaps some of his watch that we do not become as prized as the legends Honpo and Eddy Lee.
Ahead of a lot of work: polishing, change case, installation of movement, assembly.

There's one way to go about this without having to sell your car or default on your credit card payments:
H Factory PAM 247 Ferretti case/crystal/crown
Sead A-F CG
DSN dial (relumed) and case back
Upgraded version A includes a Rolli dial and a Jakob case back, but that adds about $600 to the build
Upgraded version B would be to get lucky and find an FGD t-s-t dial and build a Pre A 2, maybe for $120 extra, like the one I regret selling:

David has done a fine job with recreating an OOR version of 002, albeit with a few of his signature blunders, that now, after being discontinued, only underscore the end of a beautiful era of imperfect replicas and genuine passion for Panerai.

I am sad to see this chapter pass, but will always have his pieces to remember a time when friendships were forged and there was anticipation and excitement with every new model.
Today the choices are plenty but there is nothing to want, improve or discuss, you wait for v2, v3, v8...click, buy and a week later you get something that's a finished product and needs nothing.
This 002 has weathered a few years of relentless daily wear and elements and so I gave it a proper polish, replaced all seals and fitted a serviced Swiss UT6497. I'm sure it will keep on going and reminding me of the good times we all had for many years to come.
