Hello,

I am in need of changing my Panerai crystal, I bought a prof steve 2xAR for it, I know its not gen-like but I want to see what it looks like with this one! I can alwasy go back =) and I've never even opened any watch, let alone a Pam!

This one is a 45 mm Radiomir case, a Pam 292, I want to put in a Prof Steve 2xAR crystal, but I think my local WS is not familiar with Pams, just lower end gen watches...

I take a need a sticky friction ball to CCW open the 12 sides caseback, but then how do I proceed? I guess must take the crown out from the stem (in what position must it be for this to not damage the movement?) in order to take out the movement complete with dial and hands from the case and then pop out the crystal from the case inside out?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you misiekped and mysterio.

I spent some hours yesterday looking at tutorials online on how to decase a 6497 movement and I have compiled a list of items I will need.

The press is added to the list, but now I have read the noob Pams come with flimsy "throw away" nylon gaskets for the crystal... I think it's a good idea to get a new one but am having a hard time finding one that big (37mm diameter) and don't know if it's an "I" or an "L" o-ring and ow tall it must be, I have found out than OEM Pam crystal gaskets are 0.55mm thick as opposed to Noob 0.3mm

You going to end up with cheap crystal press and watch in the garbage
Are you trying to save 50-80 bucks? That's how much anybody will charge you for Crystal change
