Don't know about this one, but we've checked a 127 and a 243 H-fac with the watchsmith, and the pressure device said that the 127 was OK for 3 ATM, and the 243 was OK for 5 ATM.
Not sure whether it reflects the waterproofness, but that was the result that we got.

The main problem is the reliability

You can get a replica 30m waterproofing and another item of the same replica completely non WP
You can get a replica 10m WP and next month non WP.

The lack of qualioty control in a replica doesn't allow this reliability

You cannot assure either WP or the permenence of this attribute

Takes a a box of seiko silicone grease (20$), appropriate size caseback tool and 10 mins to waterproof most (if not all) non-chrono PAM to 50-100 meters without a problem, as long as all the required gaskets were installed by the rep maker (and they are in 99% of new reps).

This is another problem
No distressed or broken gaskets !! Always a lack of quality control

I have an expensive AP Barrichello with a caseback gasket broken and distressed and now full of water (no swimimg just cleaning it with water)

What kind of shape are the gaskets for the crystal and crown usually? I've had a few rolex and omega reps leak from the crystal gasket...that's why I ask.

Got a noob 243 sent to a watchsmith and HE valve was the problem. After that .. it cleared 5ATM easily.

" Water Resistance ", not water proof.

So, is it correct to assume that even if the pressure device shows that the watch is OK for 3 or 5ATM, it can still be non-waterproof?
If so - what is the correct and safe method of testing whether a watch is waterproof?

No, if you get a pic of your watch (qc pic, but I've never seen any) in the pressure device, then you could assume it's Waterproof.
Only assume because the waterproof test takes much longer than just a pic and there are no recording, because when testing you should be searching for tiny bubble coming out of the different seals of the watch.
I guess the only real way to know would be a 2/3 min video.

But again 5atm/50m is a standard, it doesn't mean your watch can go down to 50m, it resist 5 bars. Jumping in a pool from size height could give acceleration that would create a pressure over 5 bars on your watch, same with swimming or moving fast in a pool. With a 5 ATM tested watch you can take a shower, watch your hand and eventually gently swim...

Spboudart, thank you for the insight!
I obviously do not intend to swim with a rep on. Got other watches for that (e.g. a gen Sector Oversize, 100m water resistant, that I usually put on while swimming, and push the chrono buttons for timing - no issues whatsoever so far).
All I'm concerned with is can I wash my hands safely with a rep on, or will it survive if I get under a summer rain or accidentally fall in a pool.
From what I understood, if a rep clears the 5ATM pressure test, it's relatively safe to expose it to running water for a short period of time.
