OK, time for another rep..... I've become really impressed with the look of the PAM submersibles and think this might be the route. I've looked at DSN's photobucket and can't see any. Am I missing something? Does he not do the submersibles? Which model is presently the most accurate rep (I don't think I like the Arktos line, so let's discount those), and which dealer? I seem to remember that some of you senior afficionados were drooling over a recent submersible that someone had modded and sold to someone here on the forum. I liked it too. What model was that? Anyway, grateful for thoughts on this very serious matter (model and dealer)

Some say the SlyTechs are the most accurate, but the gens very rare. I like the big fat one, the 47 X 18mm job. I forget the number.

Me too. I don't really like the arktos line.

Good sub rep are rare and not easy to build.

For 44mm sub, your choice will be PAM24 or PAM199

If you are after a PAM24 A series, it is almost impossible to find it from the dealers now as the factory no longer produced it.
PAM24 A series is the one with the unmarked polished bezel so even if you can find one, the following mods are needed

- Polished the brushed umarked bezel
- Removal of the metallic rings from all the hour markers (this is the hardest part)
- Relume the dial and hands with aged tritium lume (the original lume are too green which is wrong for T dial)
- You'll need to find a correct DW (lello or DW from ultimate pam104,199,164) that will fit with A7750

PAM24 A series rep comes with the correct non AR crystal, polished case, CG and caseback engraving details.

If no luck finding a PAM24 A series, most dealers are offering PAM24 from D series onwards with A7750.
The difference between a PAM24 A and PAM24 D are

- PAM24D comes with brushed bezel with hash mark (correct for PAM24 D)
- Dial is correct with metallic ring surrounding all the hour markers
- Correct brushed case and CG

The flaws for PAM24D
- It still has the wrong date font (you need a lello DW or DW from Ulitmate PAM104, 199, 164)
- caseback engraving details (rep factory used A series and there is no way you will find a D series caseback)

Note : All the PAM24 rep share a common problem. They use sandwiched crystal and this sandwiched crystal will have rainbow colour smudge mark form after wearing it for sometime. It is caused by the glue melting between the crystals exposing to some temperature. It is hard to find the crystal replacement for sub as it is not using the standard crystal for standard 44mm pam reps.

If you really like the sub, the next best option will be the ultimate PAM199 (regatta sub) with the improved correct and thick DW). However, the double AR is a bit too strong IMO. So, for me. I will buff off one side of the AR to have lesser blue tint.
The PAM199 ultimate version rep require the least mods and best out of the box rep for submersible line.

I hope the above give you some idea about PAM24 reps.

How about a 243?

I got this one from Pix, but I know Trevor sells the same for a great price: 198$ (saphir and A7750).

I love my 243.
It looks good on many different straps and can take some swimming too:

I like the Arktos line, as well as the regular subs. The 243 is a pretty appealing choice.

Many of the subs I have seen have bezels that do not line up correctly. Even a slight error in the alignment is easy to spot.
