Pam Strap Questions

Hi All,

After not understanding the focus on Pam straps for a while, I finally understand it! I am amazed by all the options and unique approaches that can be taken with the different straps, etc. THat said, can you all help me outt on your thoughts on the following?:

1. Has anyone custom made a strap and had only 1 hole punched in at the right spot that is your wrist size? Seems like it could be a cool custom project. Also, I would have my initials engaraved at the end of the strap, just for more personallization. What do you think? Which strap maker would you suggest for this project?

2. Where can I get this strap?

I think ACH can engrave his straps. Others may have leather punches with each initial they can stamp. If you tell the strap maker exactly where you want the hole I'm sure they can accommodate you with a single punch.

1. No. Your wrist could change the size slightly, depends on weather. So, need at least 3 holes.
2. Yes, I have some kind of "personalized" straps, from SergeD, TD at RWG-1.

I've seen custom leather straps that have 2 holes punched. As Luthier mentioned, your wrist will change in size slightly due to weather and swelling (retaining water depending on diet). As far as personalized straps, there are strap makers who will either punch or brand the leather with whatever design you want.

I've bought custom leather stamps with my name and other personalized logos that I use on my personal straps. Also some of my straps have only one hole. I usually make a strap and wear it for a day or so without a hole, just a tight keeper, after it forms to my hand I mark the spot and punch a hole at the perfect size.
One hole works if you have low body fat and a balanced diet, if you eat healthy one day and next day a ton of sodium filled food and drink a gallon of Coke your wrist will increase size cause of the water retention.

1. Yes, I have made a few straps with 1 hole. Is it something I would suggest? NO. Based on the many reasons listed so far. As an alternative, you could ask for the custom strap to be left without any holes and buy a cheap hole punch set and make your own. As far as engraving goes, it can be done relatively easy.

2. I have no clue who makes that strap from that picture. More info is needed as to where you got that picture.

All my personal straps have 2-3 holes except for this guy. Initials are easy.
