PAM Strap Bars - crossthreading

Hi, new Pam 111N Noob owner. Swapping straps over and the thraded strap bars appear to have cross threaded themsleves and now wont screw in. I am a little worried about forcing them, as don't want to slip and scratch the case.
Is this a common problem? How do I re-tap the case if I have destroyed the thread? Or can I gat some custom spring bars that look like a screw head on the screw side?

Probably all well known answers, but I am a Noobie

Thanks in advance

This, this, a thousand times this. They are so much easier, and if you keep using the lug screws you are likely gonna end up getting cross threaded holes.

Chromed, what don't you like about them? I didn't like them at first, though they felt "cheap", but after I used them a little I found them to be a huge improvement.

Just make sure you turn the screw anti clockwise till you hear it click then proceed to tighten
