So I took my PAM to the mountains of Colorado and it quit working. I don't know if it's because the watch is used to the florida sun and the -11 temps messed it up (doubt it). Anyways the watch is fully wound and if I wind it just a tad more it will work for about 3 minutes and then stop. I have only one PAM, so if anyone know's any tricks or where I should send it, that would be great. Thanks!

It's a Fiddy, Thanks!

yup, what he said.

Your watch sounds like it just needs some servicing to get it to run. The temperature decrease probably gunked up something along the gear train that just needs cleaning/lubing.

I had that happen to my 183 once. I knew it was fully wound but it would not keep running. I opened it up and kept giving the escape wheel a nudge to keep it moving. After working on it like that it just kept running and has been ever since. It was almost like the hairspring got bound up on itself or something. Give it a try, you don't have anything to lose.

sonny,
i had exact same problem with my asian Fiddy back then. tried a lot ....ended up sending it to Vacuum
he did a movement service...adjusted it....and it came back woth 45 hrs of power-reserve, and it is still running strong....in germany now.
since 1.5 years now....best invested money. - Vacuum does great and reliable work.

NO WAY! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS WORKED!!!!

So I had read some stories on here about people having a watch that didn't work, then they left it in the sun in there car and it magically started working again.....
So I had every intention of sending my watch off, just didn't have any time yet. So last night I'm ironing clothes for a bachelor party weekend in Miami. I know I'm going to be seeing some people I haven't seen in a while, and my PAM would go great with this one outfit........So thinking that there is some connection between heat and making watches work....I took the pam and literally just pressed the steam button on the iron and few inches away from it for about 5 minutes.......
It's been over 18 hours and it's still working. I really can't bl that it worked!!!!!

Probably not the best idea. Steam has a way of getting into stuff and condensating out later. I guess if the watch is water proof it might not be able to get inside the watch... But I wouldn't be surprised if you have bigger problems later on.
