Pam rubber strap help

Anyone on here know how make the rep strap a little softer? Mine just feels so sticky sometimes, could there be a chemical process to make the rubber softer?

I tried boiling, stretching, wintergreen oil, simmer in armor all, mink oil, heating with the wife hair dryer, and finally gave up and bought an oe Rubber strap from my Panerai dealer, Love it, worth every penny on a super rep imo.

I just bought a rep strap- didn't know this was an issue(still in transit). Woulda/shoulda gone gen I guess...

Nothing beats gen that's true. Now how far or close is the rep rubber to the gen one is a subjective matter, especially if you consider the price difference. Certainly those are closer quality wise compared to rep leather straps vs OEM leather.

I actually don't find a great investment to buy the OEM rubber strap as a replacement for the rep one.

Better to put the money on one (or two) high quality leather straps.
