It is not a review. More of a question. All who own this watch please help me. Dawg, take a look please:

Now Davidsen case back with the Russian movement. Very nice.

And here is mine.

Can you see the gap between the case and the crown. The crown is in screwed down position. Please compare that to the gen. I don't think it's suppose to be like that. What is your take on this Enzo?
Where can I get a better crown and a tube?

Sorry bra, to me that does not look right. Ive seen pictures of Dawg's and dont remember it being that way. Good luck.

So we all heard about Davidsen having QC issues. But this goes beyond that. How the hell could someone who fitted the tube and crewed on the crown think, that the customer will like that? I don't think they care.
Now what the hell do I do with this? Send it back to Hong Kong? How many times until they get it right?
This is just getting too frustrating.

If your comfortable opening it up you could try to see whats going on in there. If not you could always send it to Joe or vaccum instead of it going back to Hong Kong. I feel your pain as Ive send Andrew back a few watches and is like 3 weeks after you get another one back. Have a discusion with Davidsen to see what he wants to do. I want to order from him but Im afraid of this to happen to me but I can take the chance and deal with it if it happens.

Thanks Enzo. It sure looks ugly, but if that's the way it should be, so be it. I own Davidsen an apology...

Making the tube sink more in is impossible, because it tapper down so it would require re drilling the case that I am not ready to take on. How about grinding off of the threaded part of the tube? The part that stick out of the case? The thread seems to be long enough...

I noticed that it's beveled on the inner side. That way it looks more acceptable.

007, no one is going to believe this watch is gen regardless of the crown/tube assembly. :wink:

Having said that, make it look the way that pleases you. If you want it historically correct, Enzo has been kind enough to give you a roadmap on what to do to achieve that. If sitting flush to the case is what looks good to you, filing a bit off of each end of the tube would probably get you there without tapering the hole in the case (although I've never tried it, so I don't know...).

FWIW, the crown/tube on my 6154 looks just the same, but it doesn't bother me, so I've left it alone.

Sorry 007 I missed this post. Mine has a smaller gap but there is one indeed. The gen is to rare and not enough pics to view it carefully. I think davidsen did a great job on this one and I am very happy with just as it is. I dont think that is anything to worry about. JMHO.
